Contests / Re: Level Design Contest #25

For rule 3, would multiple objects also fit this rule? To take the example in the overview could a level feature multiple clocks (or copies) as long as they featured in the level in some meaningful way?

Congratulations to IchoTolot & tan x dx for winning, and KingShadow3 for 2nd place!

It was really fun playing through all the levels submitted to the contest, so an extra congratulations to all participants too for making so many great levels

Finished the final rank & managed to complete The Grand Puzzle with a :tal-gold: solution .
I have attached solutions to this last rank & the full collection of solutions grouped together.

Overall this has been a great pack to play through over the past couple of months, with plenty of quality levels. That all the levels all tie into the song-title gives the pack a great theme and a distinct feel from the perspective of somebody playing it. My only real criticism of some levels is that a few have too many repeated assignments in them.

Regarding difficulty, I found the pack to be Medium-Hard. Some of the later levels are really tough - and some of the earlier ranks have a few difficulty spikes in them too.

Thanks for making a really enjoyable pack Strato  - I am looking forward to playing Open Air in the future!

General Discussion / Re: Lemmings Forums on Youtube
« on: January 02, 2022, 01:19:57 AM »
Something that's been floating in my mind for the last few weeks, and that is for the start of 2022, I'm thinking of breaking the mold from all the LP videos of Lemmings level packs on my YT channel by doing a Q&A/AMA for my next video. You know, as a way for all of you to get to know me better. Would anyone be interested in such a video? If there is interest, I'm not sure how I will get question submissions from you users. One way I thought about is maybe making an announcement video and then you simply drop off a question(s) in the comments section. Another is, of course, doing a live video, but as I don't think many would be able to be present when it does go live, I likely won't do it this way. Or, I guess questions can either be dropped here in a post or PMed to me.

Another thing I would probably like to do is projecting the questions to be visible as well. I have absolutely no clue how to go about doing this, especially since I'm not really into video editing and all, as I'm so bad at it. Any suggestions for this are welcome.

Q&A sounds interesting, you could also do a youtube stream or something and answer questions as they come in while playing / making a level or something if you don't want to go down the edited route - as the live chat should be saved with the vod. To add to WillLem's suggestions for editors, I've used davinci resolve in the past - it is free & available on win/mac/linux (though you have to sign up to get a download). It is pretty feature rich - but using it to cut clips together is fairly straightforward if you ignore the adanced tabs. If you want to see what it looks like Gamefromscratch did a video on it

I have attached a full collection of replays that should be up to date and work for all the levels - the replay checker trips over a couple of the replays as a couple of the levels have a duplicate ID - so I just checked those ones manually.

This was a fun pack to approach as a one-a-day solve, and I felt the level of difficulty here was well judged for this too. I would agree the diffiulty tends to fall more medium side of the medium-hard scale for me, but having said that I think that is a good fit for the pack. I liked the open ended nature of a lot of the levels, and think this a good fit for the style of the pack.

Merry Christmas M.C. Escher was the hardest level of the pack for me - especially the talisman. I did look at the intended solution for this now you have said mine was ok and I definitely made my one more complicated than it needed to be! Aside from that one, my other favorites of the pack were Stage Presents, Rebel without a Claus, and The North pole.

Overall, I had fun playing through this pack this December & enjoyed the one-a-day idea

New post for some more replays - enjoying the daily solves so far, and the last two levels have been quite open ended so I imagine there are probably some interesting challenge solutions to these. Looking forward to starting the next rank :)

I have attached the replays to the last 6 levels - Level 29 is a very tricky one!

I have attached my solution to level 6 & 7 - will update this post with the next 5 days of replays.

I solved up to level 23 on my latest play session. I only managed the talisman to level 17 this time, I at least have some ideas for other talisman solutions (which may or may not be correct) with the exception of 21 where I have no idea, so that one seems like a really hard one to solve.

NeoLemmix Levels / Re: Lemmings Cranium Preview - Challenge rank
« on: December 06, 2021, 01:03:57 AM »
I had a play through of these this evening and enjoyed solving the first 15 so far :) - I ended up getting stuck on 13 for longer than I should have because I mistakenly thought the save requirement was higher than it was :forehead:!

I have got all the talismans with the exception of 14 which I might re-attempt to optimise for time later.
