It's a running trend on this community that it tends to become quieter over the Xmas season and also there tends to be less people around during the summer. We had a Jackbox session in the first few weeks of June and only 6 people total showed up, also the last Lix session in May had a low turnout.

It's been nearly 3 months since we last had a Lix session, now the summer months are over, it's time to get back into playing some Lix especially since Simon has been updating Lix throughout the year.

We'll opt for the usual time of 5pm UTC (6pm UK time) on Sun 17th Sept.

Anyone is welcome even if you haven't played before, however it is recommended you download Mumble so you can voice chat with us during the session. Be sure to PM Simon if you need the mumble server info.

I have 2 new levels to try in the session, I may make some more but I don't want it to dominate what we play in the session.

Be nice to play Lix again after a summer hiatus :lix-smile:
So who's interested?

General Discussion / Re: LF meetup, Leeds, Sat 5 August

I'm home too and it was a great day in Leeds overall, very happy with the fact that 8 of us met up today which is at least double any other meet up we've accomplished in the forum's history.

I got to the train station rather early and thought it was a good idea to hold my Lemmings plush to help everyone find me but Pooty and Crane were already there and didn't make themselves known to me for a while, Stewozere turned up a short while after that. We noticed Proxima and tanxdx over by the WHSmiths entrance and they eventually came over. WillLem and Kingshadow showed up not too long after that so it wasn't too bad getting everyone together

We went to the Lego store almost immediately which I didn't expect, WillLem bought me a Sonic Lego minifigure keyring which I'm very thankful for, he's awesome. I also bought a new Sonic Lego set which released this month, the only one I wanted in the recent releases.
We then went for lunch at a place I've never tried and tried the Chicken Katsu curry which I had with chopsticks, didn't expect the chopsticks, nice touch! We split the bill evenly 8 ways.

We also went to 2 very niche stores which had a great board game community and manga collection. One of the stores had an art fair in the basement where we had the group pics taken.

Eventually we ended up in a cafe in the Waterstone's book shop, where I showed everyone my Lemmings Ports Book. A PDF of this book has been available for free online for a period of time but there was a special charm to holding the real deal book and looking at it around the table with the group. I also showed my 2 Lemmings adventure books.
We spent several hours in this cafe, which Stewozere had to leave about halfway through to get his train. Eventually after hours of programming talk, maths talk and puzzles, we all walked back to the train station.

Proxima, tanxdx, Crane and WillLem said their goodbyes and myself, Kingshadow and Pooty remained at the train station. I waited with Kingshadow and Pooty until they got their trains then went home myself. Great day overall, it was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed my first time in Leeds City Centre, everyone was very nice to me and I feel we have become closer as a community :lix-wink:

I've already arrived outside the WHSmiths on the station concourse. I'm holding a Lemmings plush to help people find me.

(nine if Lucia joins).

She won't be coming sadly, she was planning on coming but then something came up and she is currently away.

So you'll have to make do with me!

I have a suggestion for activities. Could we perhaps visit a few shops which might be of interest, like there's a Forbidden Planet and Lego store in Leeds.
Obviously those would be my choices of shops to visit, other suggestions are welcome.
Or if that would mess too much with the flow of the day then I'll just arrive early and visit those places before meeting you guys.

I should be there also. Unknown if Lucia will be accompanying me though.

Just a reminder about this session in 3 days time

In other Jackbox related news, much like how TKO2 was announced as the first Jackbox Party Pack 10 game a week before our last Jackbox session, by pure coincidence the 2nd Jackbox Party Party 10 game has been announced this week!

Quote from: Jackbox Games
Have you ever wished someone would reply to your text messages for you?
Have you sent a message, blinked and felt like throwing your phone against the wall?
Have you imagined the witty answers your friends would come up with if you combined your brains? You're in luck. In the new The Jackbox Party Pack 10 game , you will be able to act out that fantasy without having any negative responses!

Welcome to FixyText , the biggest finger fight since the thumb wars!

This game is, in short, chaos in the group chat. Players will have to collaborate to write a crazy response to an exaggerated message in a limited time. The player whose words have the most impact, generate the most laughter, receive the most votes… wins!

FixyText is for 3-8 players and will feature in Jackbox Party Pack 10 coming later this year

It's been nearly 2 months since we've had a session now, it's been long enough we feel.

Everyone was very happy to see Jackbox return and the spinner wheels (pictured at bottom of post) myself and Kingshadow made seemed to add to the enjoyment of the session.
Also it was a lot of players' first glimpse at Jackbox Party Pack 9 which came out in Oct 2022.

So let's have another session on Sunday 11th June at 17:00 UTC (18:00 UK time).

We'll be hosting the game on the LF forum discord server using the voice chat rooms (Pillar room/Brick room), voice chat is not essential but recommended for some of the Jackbox games for best results.
The game is brought to you using the discord screenshare feature, we host the game and no downloads or applications are necessary on your end. You just need to go to jackbox.tv to play the game.
Link to the LF forum discord server if you have not already joined https://discord.gg/2MyfSfN

The sessions usually go on until a large amount of players have decided to leave the session, average session length has been around 5 hours, we can go on longer if there is significant demand to though.

Everyone is welcome, it's not just for people who have played before in these sessions!

Myself and Kingshadow will be hosting this session and we'll alternate between hosting throughout the session to cut down on waiting time between games.
We also have access to all 9 of the Party Packs between us.

So who's interested? :)

I'd be interested too.

I live down in Nottingham and have transport to get to a meet up location, Leeds is about 80 miles from me so getting to the north is possible for me provided it doesn't get any more north than that, getting to the north west would be tougher for me though.
Could even pick up others between Nottingham and Leeds (or wherever the meet up ends up to be) who have no means to get to the meet up. My car is not a very big one though.

Concerning dates, my availability is all over the place because of my work schedule, my best time of availability is 25th June-10th July as I am on vacation during that time. Other good times are 4th-7th August or 1st-4th Sept.

26
Just a reminder, we're still playing this Sunday and I have 10 new maps at the time of writing, including one geoo will love! :8:()[:

27
It's weird because the blockers used to work on One Way Fields, the replay I used was from a 2017 version of NL and the blocker would keep the Lemmings in a bunch on the one way field, they would be trapped in a pixel effectively.

Just don't know what has occurred in the NL code to stop this behaviour suddenly?

SuperLemmix / Re: NeoLemmix>SuperLemmix Levelpack Compatibility
« on: May 02, 2023, 08:09:59 PM »
Another thing to mention is swimming in Lava/Acid was allowed in NeoLemmix and is not allowed in SuperLemmix, it affects one of my SEB Lems levels.

The Stoner thing isn't a huge fix, it only affects 45 of my levels across all 4 of my NeoLemmix packs (SEB Lems, MegSEGAbytes, Modular Lems and Gotta Go Fast). So that's 45 out of 399 levels, a little over 11% of my levels.

Didn't consider the Direct drop thing though so that may result in more fixes also.

I'll eventually get around to fixing things, I use Stoners in weird ways so I don't think a skill swap is going to suffice, if worse comes to worse though, I'll just not port the level over.

If this is fully compatible with every NeoLemmix level pack I'm going to switch to it. I like it.

Any level in NeoLemmix which uses the Stoner skill in their solution will not be compatible unless the pack has been updated by its author, this skill has been swapped for the Freezer skill.

It's been nearly 3 months since the last session so let's have another one.

Opting for Sunday 14th May this time at 17:00 UTC (about 4 hours earlier than the timestamp on this message).
We voice chat during the session on Mumble, you'll need to PM Simon for the Mumble server information.

I have some new maps to play and test also so look forward to seeing you all there
