Hm. Maybe my understanding is a bit oversimplified. I've always thought of it as 3 months per season (starting with December as the start of Winter or Summer depending on hemisphere), and inverted between the two hemispheres. In practice there isn't really a hard-and-fast border between them as weather gradually changes, so I guess any definition is ultimately arbitrary.

Screw the southern hemisphere

): my hemisphere

I think I've been genuinely disadvantaged on this question by having a different perspective on it compared with the majority. Especially since the winning month is actually winter :-\

I went with the first unambiguous month for this reason.

It's manageable as it is. :) I already modified LemSet to accept PNG (and GIF) files before I saw this post, and that's probably the only major obstacle that existed.

However, two pieces of info that could be useful:
- How exactly does Cheapo calculate a circle trigger area? NeoLemmix doesn't support this, so I'd have to approximate it with a square (or add support for it, in which case knowing the algorithm would be useful).
- What sound effects correspond to what traps?

Alright, this has been out long enough to reveal the cheat code.

The code is NIGHTMARES.

Working on a LemSet update that can take these files as input. :)

Simply doing "java.exe" worked fine on mine (and is in fact the default setup in NeoLemmixEditor.ini), but doesn't work for everyone.

Wait, Delphi is dependent on Java now? ??? Yuck!  (well j/k, sort of.)

No. SuperLemmini is a Java app, and NeoLemmix Editor can launch levels in it as a "playtest" mode, just like it can with CustLemmix and NeoCustLemmix. But for that, the Java path needs to be configured properly. We're discussing the issue of either auto-configuring it or bypassing the need to configure it altogether.

There are... ahem... ways around the cost. However, neither the player nor the editor will compile properly on the newer versions. It's possible I may be able to modify it to do so, but I haven't tried yet.

With that being said, making use of symbolic links should be more dependant on the underlying OS than anything else, shouldn't it?

I was putting off a Java update for a long time in fear that this would happen; [and it did happen  :( ]

the playtest for SuperLemmini no longer works. It says "shell execute fout 2"
I'll look into looking at the style file and trying to fix it myself but I wanted to say something for anyone else who might experience the problem.

This is probably not an editor bug (though I will test it to make sure), but rather a result of the Java update changing where the file is stored. You want to look at the main NeoLemmixEditor.ini file and update the "JavaPath" entry.

You can generally find the correct thing to put here by using one of the following:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre*****\bin\java.exe
C:\Program Files\Java\jre*****\bin\java.exe

I really do need to find out how to write a bit of code to autodetect it, though...

Nothing wrong with your replays, Akseli. This is happening because - as mentioned in the update log, replays saved with NeoLemmix V1.28n or higher can't be opened with earlier versions. (The reverse is fine though - NeoLemmix V1.28n can open replays saved with earlier versions.) I didn't test all of them, but I was able to open one of the ones you've mentioned as not working.

As of (IIRC) V1.27n, NeoLemmix players no longer uses the INI file at all, so you should probably delete it to avoid confusion. The editor still uses NeoLemmixEditor.ini and NeoLemmixStyles.ini, of course.

LookForLVLFiles worked fine for me. The levels you're seeing would be the NeoLemmix skills training pack; NeoCustLemmix defaults to this when there's no valid level pack (or LVL file) for a specific level. (Levels 1 to 8 are unique, but levels 9 and 10 were remade for LP Omega, so you'll have seen them before.)

Make sure you name them 0101.lvl, 0102.lvl, 0201.lvl and 0202.lvl (for example), and turn LookForLVLFiles on (Option 9) in the config menu (press F3 on the title screen). I just tested with V1.28n (since before I was using V1.27n-B) and it works fine.

For the NeoLemmix Editor, what you'll need to do is put a copy of CustLemmixNeo.exe in the same folder as the editor. If it doesn't work, check NeoLemmixStyles.ini and make sure TestEXE is set to "CustLemmixNeo.exe" (without quotes) for the NeoCustLemmix style.

9254
Sounds like a good idea. I'll do that when I get home.

Qualifying levels are:

* Wild 03 "Lemming Rhythms"
* Wild 05 "Lemming Head"
* Wild 07 "You Take the High Road"
* Wicked 03 "This Corrosion"
* Havoc 18 "Lemmings in a situation"

Next round is up. :)
