Lemmings Main / Author Level List Game
« on: March 08, 2006, 10:08:45 AM »
Here's a slight variation on the level list game - instead of choosing a pack, only an author is chosen, and the person reviews their favourite level from that author. If that level's already been done, just state what it is, and review your 2nd favourite. If that one's done, do the same and go to the 3rd, and so on. Then after about 5 or 6 reviews, a new author is chosen, and so on.

I'm going to randomly choose to start with Insane Steve, however I don't have time to review my fav level at the moment. I'll do it tomorrow, if no one else picks the same level first.

Some of mine:

Ed Edd & Eddy:

(in response to various insults) Ed: "Stinky hat!"

Johnny: "Plank says..."

Ed: "One, two, tie my shoe! [ties shoe] Three, four, close the door! [slams door so hard the house collapses] Five, six, grab some sticks! [grabs two streetlights] Seven, eight, lay them straight! [puts them down and squashes Johnny] Nine, ten, a big fat hen! [grabs a HUGE hen, and it flies off with him, he then emerges from an egg it leaves behind] Eleven, twelve..."
Eddy: "Ed!"

Family Guy:

Young Peter: "Why did all the dinosaurs die out?"
Museum Staff: "Because you touch yourself at night."

Car Navigation System: "In Soviet Russia, car drives you!"

Chris: "Have some ice-cream dude."
Stewie: "Okay... but NO SPRINKLES! For every sprinkle I find... I shall kill you."

Futurama:

Leela: "It's like some weird Leela museum... and I'm the Leela!"

Gravitation:

Yuki Eiri: "...and you suck in bed." (you have to see it in the context to find it funny)

Levels for other engines / Lemmings Plus 3 - Nearly here! [edit: Released!]
« on: February 06, 2006, 01:47:18 AM »
And there's a preview available. I've uploaded it on a website I used to use for joke sites:

http://hhsppl.freespaces.com/ [Edit: Full version released]

There are the 4 training levels, plus 7 other levels. Also included are a list of maximum saveable amount on each level, and solutions to all but one level (the hardest level doesn't have a solution included, but it IS POSSIBLE).

Full version:
Four different difficulties - Daigoro, Kozuka, Wakizashi, Zanmato. Each with 20 levels. There are 5 training levels - 4 in Daigoro, and 1 in Kozuka(well, technically it's not really a training level, but I consider it one - "Advanced Blocking"). There are a total of 80 levels, 3 of which use copy/pasted graphics ("Sunrise", "Sunrise II" and "Sunset", in Kozuka, Wakizashi and Zanmato respectively). Also included are two bonus packs, one containing versions of 21 of the levels with more tools given, less lemmings requried, more time given, and lower release rates (just for fun or strategizing), and a pack containing the two levels which were made for LP3 but were never released in the final release. Have fun with them.

packs with similar style to Lemmings Plus out there?

(speaking of which, Lemmings Plus 3 is nearly completed, nearly through Wakizashi(third difficulty level out of four) so far. No new styles, but quite a few new level ideas, I can post some more information if anyone's interested)

Let's see how THIS goes. Punctuation doesn't count, but digits do. You can't start or end your submission with a space.

One day, ther..

Level Design / Board with Upload Feature
« on: January 30, 2005, 12:08:59 AM »
http://s7.invisionfree.com/lemmings370/index.php

There are sections there with Upload feature. It's limited to 75KB but it's adequate for uploading LemEdit packs and Cheapo levels(dunno about sets).

Also. I've uploaded a preview pic of my next pack, and I'm going to upload the midi I made for it.

Tech & Research / Lemmings Board with upload feature

http://s7.invisionfree.com/lemmings370/index.php

That board, as well as containing specific sections for all of my level packs, has a LemEdit and a Cheapo section, both of which have upload capability, which I enabled specifically for level uploads(but other lemmings-related uploads are welcome). The maximum file size is quite large, 48.83 MB - I doubt any of you will need to make an upload that's that big. Edit: I found out how to change it. I set it to 100KB.

If you need somewhere to upload your levels, you can go there.

PS: Since you guys seem to have trouble getting Level 4 of UC7 to work, I uploaded it there as a .lvl file.

Level Design / Sega Master System Midis

Does anyone know where I can get these, especially the ones of Level 13/30, Level 14 and Level 17? (Level 15 is also unique to Sega version, but I have found a midi of that)

Lemmings Main / Sega Maser System Musics
« on: January 09, 2005, 07:52:24 AM »
I FINALLY managed to obtain the SMS version musics from somewhere - in their original format(.vgz). Yay for me. Just thought I'd share this pointless info. I can't remember the site, but if anyone wants me, contact me on MSN as teh_snep@hotmail.com, or on Yahoo or AOL as Steaver370.

Also. My comments about these musics. They are just AWESOME. Three of the four musics unique to SMS version are also very good. If you didn't already know - the order is different to PC version:

Sega: CanCanP, Lemmin1P, Tim3P, Lemmin2P, Tim8P, Tim3P, Tim5P, DoggieP, Tim6P, Lemmin3P, Tim7P, Tim9P, Sega1P, Sega2P, Sega3P, MountaiP, Sega4P (TenLemsP, Tim1P, Tim4P and ForestP are not in the SMS version)

PC: Lemmin1P, Lemmin2P, Lemmin3P, MountaiP, TenLemsP, CanCanP*, Tim1P, Tim2P, Tim3P, Tim4P, Tim5P, Tim6P, Tim7P, Tim8P, Tim9P
*In the windows version, this music is moved to the start

I must say the best improvement between a PC version track and the SMS version is Tim9P, with Tim6P coming in as a close second.

Lemmings Main / Oh No More Lemmings musics
« on: September 28, 2004, 11:22:38 AM »
Has anyone else noticed how musics 2, 4, 5 and 6 all sound quite "similar", while 3 only sounds slightly like the others? And the first music is completely unique(and awesome, in my opinion) from the rest?

General Discussion / Extra Word Story
« on: September 26, 2004, 02:51:02 AM »
Okay. This works like 5 word story and 3 word story, except that each post is one word more than the one before it.

So, I start with one word. The next person does two words. Then three. Then four. And so on. Of course, we don't want it to get too long. So, once it gets up to 7, the next post is one word again, instead of 8.

So its: One word, two words, three words, four words, five words, six words, seven words, one word, and so on.

I'll start:

Zhokkleberries...

Lemmings Main / Backroutes in original games
« on: September 03, 2004, 11:53:33 PM »
I've made a list of all the levels with backroutes in Lemmings 3D, if anyone wants to do it for the other games, please do!

Lemmings 3D Backroutes:

Fun 8 (Level 8) - Lemmings Inside
Tricky 12 (Level 32) - Dot to Dot
Tricky 15 (Level 15) - Chocolate Drop
Taxing 1 (Level 41) - Spaghetti Junction
Taxing 20 (Level 60) - Death Slide
Mayhem 3 (Level 63) - Tower of Lemlab
Mayhem 6 (Level 66) - Family Tree
Mayhem 8 (Level 68) - Five Towers
Mayhem 14 (Level 74) - Jelly Belly Islands
Mayhem 20 (Level 80) - Final Maze

The backroute in "Spaghetti Junction" is pretty well known, the one in "Family Tree" is kinda obvious, and the one in "Dot to Dot" is easy to find if you know it exists(but you don't know where it is), but apart from that, the other 7 took a while for me to find. I still haven't found the intended solutions to Chocolate Drop, Death Slide, Five Towers, Jelly Belly Islands or Final Maze, but I have found the intended solutions to the others.

An interesting point, is that until I checked a walkthrough to get the names of the levels, I never even realised that the solution I had always used for "Five Towers" was a backroute!
