NeoLemmix Levels / Re: [NeoLemmix] PoPiPack
« on: March 23, 2024, 09:42:02 AM »
Thank you @David for the kind words! I'm delighted you enjoyed these levels :thumbsup:

They're all solvable of course and none of them require what I would call "fiddly techniques", but this may be a matter of point of view. I don't think piquant 3 requires any weird trick or tight timing but I'll take a look at my replay to make sure.

I'll also check your replays as soon as I have some time. Thanks again for the feedback!

Awesome, will definitely listen to this podcast :thumbsup:
About iconic levels, I would suggest Compression Method 1 because I think it brings/teaches something new, and maybe Poles Apart (don't know why this one always sticks in my mind as a signature level :cute:)
It also could be interesting to talk about repeat levels, especially how playing a level in the fun rank and finding it again later as a harder puzzle can make the it more engaging. It's also a cheap way to cram more levels into a pack :crylaugh:

@kaywhyn
Nice to know Dodochacalo is still around :) I don't have many ways to contact him and since he's not answering on Messenger I won't insist for the time being. He will come around eventually when he feels like it :D

@Ichotolot
Thank you!
I've been playing some Lemmings lately, mostly testing some levels for mobius. If I'm still around when the LOTY2023 pack is released I'll give it a try :thumbsup:

Hey @Simon !

Indeed there's still hope that the project will be completed someday in the far future. I just couldn't sit on these levels any longer.
By the way, I guess some of these levels would not have made the cut into the final pack. They're not all good. Some are a bit weird too :crylaugh: But I wanted to include them all here, as a retrospective of everything I made these past 10-ish years. :)

Thanks for the kind words!

This is great! I encountered this problem a lot and I think it was the best possible way to fix it :)

Thank you @kaywhyn :)

It definitely is nothing like the final product we envisionned but still, it's better releasing what I've been working on than keeping the levels for myself. The real tragedy to me is that Dodochacalo made some excellent levels and I can't take the responsibility to release them myself. Hopefully someday Dodo will make his work available to all!

Regarding Dodochacalo, I'm sure he's doing fine but, as myself, he tends to disappears for long periods of time. Life must be busy :o

Edit 04/13/24 - Due to the Dodochacalo / Pieuw levelpack soon becoming a thing, PiPoPAck will become obsolete and I'm locking this topic and removing the attachment. See you soon in another topic ! :D

Well done Kaywhyn! As always your feedback is super interesting to read and brings back lots of memories.

Maso 17 - The Crossing (Part III) Hmm, I wonder where the other two such levels are. I honestly can't recall right now.
I can answer this. :)
Two levels from Pimolems, Hugs & Kisses and Candelabrum, were originally called something like The Crossing and The Crossing part 2 respectively. Dodochacalo also made his version of the crossing :laugh:

Contests / Re: Level Design Contest #27
« on: December 12, 2022, 08:42:27 AM »
I'll try to take part in this contest as I've been making levels lately. :laugh: It'll be the occasion to fiddle with swimmers, I've only encountered them in a few levels and never tried to build something involving this skill.

The other two rules are very fine too :thumbsup:

If I understand correctly, the level has to take a while to beat even if you know the solution ? This will make for terrible levels, especially on such a small canvas :crylaugh:
Some annoying ideas come to mind :P

Nothing to add really, NeoLemmix is the new standard and it's probably the most comfortable engine to play with.

That being said, welcome to the Lemmings Forums! I'm thrilled to know about a new Twitch channel streaming Lemmings :thumbsup:

Thank you Armani :D

Well done saving one blocker on Paucity!
Forbidden Friendship is an obvious backroute, my fault for not checking the trigger areas :crylaugh: I'll add more fire pits.
Viaduc Caduc: first replay is spot on, the second one is an interesting backroute which will be easy to fix I think.

Edit: I fixed Forbidden Friendship and Viaduc Caduc. I updated the attachments :)
