Levels for other engines / Re: Made my very first levels for lemmini
« on: June 29, 2013, 03:47:06 PM »
I'm trying a different approach this time when making the levels or more like planning the puzzle.  I hope it is not seen as lazy but I'm using the original and Oh no more lemming levels and making it in a way that it feels like you are playing a new level as some of the exits are in different locations.

I'll be almost finished soon then I'll upload them to the mindless website, Try minimacs levels at the top as well they look quite good.

That was interesting watching your replays seeing some different solutions to the levels especially the level stuck in a pipe, I never even thought of that solution so welldone to yourself. :) :)  With the snow endurance level that was a tough one especially getting the lemmings in on time.

Maybe in the future I might make some more levels up, I really enjoyed doing that for the first time around the month of May.

The best thing about making levels is everyone usually has there own style so makes things really interesting.

Thanks AKseli

Oh by the way I think (RTW) Round the wheel is making some more lemmings videos.

A big thanks to yourself Akseli for taking the time to try my first level pack out also look forward to seeing the solutions as it's not always going to be the same solution I intended so it will be interesting.  I'll probably have a look at that the now if I have time, thanks.

I was wondering with the start position because in some of the levels the start position was a bit off to say the least but now I know how yeah that will make things a lot easier in the future.  :D

I noticed with some of the levels when I am placing objects together they seem slightly off.  That was something about lemmings I really liked was the architecture especially with the lemmings two the tribes levels, I thought they were done really well.  The Dying Lemmings level I really liked the way this turned out architecture wise as with the annoying trees and branches.

I have to agree with the bubble levels they ended up turning out quite nice and I thought the puzzle aspect would of been nice in these types.  The burst bubble one is interesting because of a certain trick you have to use to get the lemmings up slightly but if you know your lemmings then the level will be a piece of cake.   :D

The lemmings at work level I was a bit cheeky with this one and hid another the exit under the bricks right around the start of the level.  I don't think it's possible doing it the other way as I tried to make it look if it was possible as to trick the player.  I do have an evil side to my lemmings levels  but nevertheless interesting tactic I used.  This level might be a bit too cheeky I think.

I hope the havoc of three level doesn't make people pull out there hair.

I remember the Best level pak topic quite well, going back a year or so.  You and me must of joined the forum around the same time I think.

And again I really appreciate your input thanks Akseli

Hi Mantagir

It's a hard one to get working but once you know how it becomes easier.  Check my posting history see, If I asked the same question.  Running the levels in lemmini is a good program.

I remember having a lot of trouble myself getting it to run but that was mainly because I never knew what to do.

Sorry if I am not much help, as I can't really remember but there was something about downloading a custlems program.

I'm quite proud of how my lemmings levels turned out, check them out here.

Oh yes the annoying sheep used to annoy my brother, somehow I liked it.

To be honest I really liked this game, spent a lot of time trying to complete which eventually I managed to beat the game around five years ago.  The level that was holding me back was the red lemming connection mayhem one.  I agree the rocket traps were kind of spooky in a way

I would really like there to be a lemmings 2 paintball (who else agrees)

There was a website which I think was called Leo's lemmings paintball.

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Atari st e book I wrote
« on: May 27, 2013, 12:47:12 PM »
I hope it's okay to post a link here about it.

The book I wrote for the kindle was really just based on my memories as a atari st gamer when I was a kid.  I mainly talk about the games I played also stick in a couple of trivia facts and lemmings gets a mention as well because lemmings is still my favourite game of all time.  The atari st had a lot of the same games as the amiga, back then there was a war between them as my mum and dad were selling games back then for the atari st,

You can borrow for free on the kindle device.

My dads mate and I have been trying to get Fire and Ice to work on the atari st, I think this was the game I used to play as a kid because I remember playing this underwater type game which I suppose was the demo version of the game but I could be wrong as my memory is foggy in this area.

Hi guys

There is a really good puzzle game I used to play which was called Fitznik, made by the New Zealand company screaming duck software, what a game, I managed to finish all the levels but it does make your brain explode with the puzzles.

http://www.screamingduck.com/

If you get a chance download the demo, I'm sure any lemmings fan will love fitznik

Hi Mobius

Thanks Mobius

I managed to get that sorted, you are right what ever the last bit on the menu you click on that undoes itself unless you click on another section in the menu.

That's me got my levels uploaded on Mindless, they are kind of a mixed base so you have your hero type one's also there are a couple of puzzle one's and there is a nightmare as well.

Here's my level pack here if anyone wants to try them.

Hi Everyone

I've been using the lemmix utility for making the levels up but I have had a problem well not a big problem to be honest.  How do you give the levels a title because usually I type in the title of the level then when I play that level it just comes up with level 1, Probably a small mistake I'm doing.

What's the best website to upload the levels? I was looking at Mindless, I might maybe go for that one.

Lemmings Main / Re: Happy Birthday Lemmings!

Hi everyone, long time no post

My dad and I were playing lemmings at the weekend still really popular with us even after 22 years.  It was mad the way the rubbish dump level from the two player mode was played.  My lemmings ended up in dads section of the level where the house was and it was a lot of work to get the lemmings right round to my base.

22 years oh my, just shows you how popular and well remembered this game is.

Hope you are all well.

Lemmings Main / Re: Lemmings two the Tribes Favourite tribe
« on: June 30, 2012, 12:17:27 AM »
One of my favourite levels in The Outdoor tribe is The Friday walk which I think that's the name of it.    The reason I like it is there is so many different ways you can complete this level even some that I've not tried yet.

The level even has that feel of being a practice level where you can just play around and explore different areas of the level.
