Lemmings Main / Lemmings two player
« on: October 20, 2017, 08:36:21 PM »
I thought I would create this thread as I was thinking that it might be a good idea to record my dad and I playing the lemmings two player on the atari st emulator some time. Sorry I don't have any videos at the moment but I might as well create this thread to get this started. :)

The two player lemmings can be mighty fun as there are many different tactics you could try.

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Hardest video games
« on: August 27, 2017, 12:11:34 AM »
Hi everyone

I thought I would start a topic asking about our hardest games we have complete. I was going to ask what has been your most hardest game you have completed without cheating, glitches are allowed I would say because some glitches requite skill.

What have been your hardest video games you have completed.

Lemmings Main / We all fall down
« on: July 13, 2017, 10:01:01 PM »
I'm thinking maybe someone else has mentioned this in the past. I managed to complete the we all fall down Mayhem one with just three or two digs. Has anyone else mentioned this before?

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Games I'm maybe thinking of completing one day.
« on: March 17, 2017, 01:30:21 AM »
Hi guys

Hope you are doing okay. I might maybe list some games that I'm determined to finish, lately I've just completed the car vup game the one for the Atari st. I managed to complete that one without cheating or saving the game as you couldn't save it on the Atari st back in the day. You could probably save it when playing it on the Atari st emulator using the save game state features but that would make those type of games far to easy. A lot of the Atari games were like that except for games like lemmings, pushover, colour clash, chips challenge where you have a password system.

Feel free to to post your list of games you are determined to complete one day. It does not have to be games you are thinking of completing this year, it could be years away, decades away (etc) if time allows god willing.
Here's my list of games I'm thinking of completing in the future, probably way in the future. These games I feel are very fun to play.

Lemmings Chronicles
Lemmings 3d
Lemmings revolution
Worms forts
Pushover
One Step Beyond (maybe a favourite of Simon's, never played it myself as of yet)
Chips challenge
Shadow Warrior
Rick dangerous 2
No buddies land
Tomb raider Underworld
Tomb raider Anniversary
James pond
Bug
Wolfchild
Pablo and the Gold of Montezuma
Jack Orlando
Grim fandango
Fire and Ice
Enchanted land
Punt 2
Operation starfish
Popcorn (Breakout style game)
Starquake
Bart vs the space mutants
Worms (weapons of mass destruction)
Shufflepuck cafe
The Simpsons Bart vs the world
Slug (Sokoban type game for the atari st)
Supaplex
Bubble Bobble (Not allowed to use continues)
Captain Dynamo
World Racer 2
Heartlight
The lost Vikings
Hook (dos)
Chuck's Challenge
Sonic CD
I-Fluid
Kevs World (atari st)
Polyball
One More Roll
Steg (atari st)
Rise of the Tomb raider
Lmarbles
Fort Boyard the quest
Speed Thief
Gods
Fire and Brimstone (atari st)
Droid (atari st)
Droid 2 (atari st)
Psycho Pig (First one)
Ozone 2 (atari st)

I might change the list from time to time but the games that have the line through it are the ones that I have completed from the list

General Discussion / Martyn Brown, Worms: article on retrogamer.net

Martyn Brown is the man I think the MB bomb from the worms games was named after. The article talks about a lot of people involved in making the games and music.

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Lets play unfortunately not lemmings
« on: November 23, 2016, 11:47:12 PM »
Hi guys

I thought I would post some lets plays I've been doing about atari st games. I hear some of you are fans of the atari st. I might maybe do a lemmings game in the future but I can't promise anything at the moment.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGIuwdB5b6Fk_HUmhjGLJZg

This is a different youtube account from the one I usually use, I wanted to have this just for atari st games or old classic video games so to say.

Hope you enjoy watching some of the videos.

Hi guys

I've been making some puzzles out of the old lemmings levels. I like the whole idea of making a harder puzzle out of old levels well some of them might be a bit easier than the previous puzzle or level.

I've got a 13 level pack for the Lemmini which I'll attach to this post. I bet you guys will have those finished very quick. :lem-mindblown: I thought I would post this level pack as it is coming up for lemmings 25th Birthday as this pack contains a lot of the old levels from the game..

Wow it goes to show how time is going by quick. :lem-mindblown:

Non-Lemmings Gaming / PC Dos game called (Clone)
« on: April 04, 2015, 12:06:52 AM »
Hi everyone

I thought I would share a game I was playing which has a big puzzle element attached to it. The game is called Clone, a little interesting game I would say. I've been playing this in the evenings getting past more levels but there has been a few that have stumped myself.

Here's a picture of the game

http://www.dosgames.com/ss.php?filename=clone.gif

Has anyone else tried this game before? I think this game is well thought out as you have to get the blue guys to the exit, just as simple as that but some levels you have to think before you make any moves.

A cool game.

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Atari st magazine
« on: December 16, 2014, 09:39:55 AM »
This might be one of those long shot type questions, but back in the day my mum and dad used to advertise their business which was sellling atari st games, this was a long time ago but I was wondering if anyone else can find the Ads my mum and dad placed. The business was called KPD and they were mainly selling games.

I've had a little look myself through one or two of the atari st format magazines but I'm not even too sure if this is the right section, so many magazines to look through (lol)

By the way for any atari st fan here's a website to some of the magazines, you can actually have a look through each magazine, thanks to the contributors who have saved most of the magazines. It takes you back down memory lane.

Many thanks guys.

Lemmings Main / Imagination
« on: November 19, 2014, 12:37:50 AM »
Hi everyone

If I remember correctly this might of been one of the things I mentioned about in my e-book.

Even though it is related to setting your own challenges, lets see what we could do.

One challenge I like doing myself is using a program such as the random number generater (http://www.random.org/). So lets say that the numbers are 1 to 100, We could use Oh no more lemmings where whatever number comes up we must complete that level on our first try. This can be quite tricky if you have bad luck and get one of the hard levels.

The thing that makes this challenge interesting in my opinion is if you make a mistake doing a level, can you still recover? (Could be or Could be not) I know this can be annoying if you get one of the the levels that requires 100%.

Has anyone else tried this sort of challenge? (You use the random number generator to pick five levels at random and if you can complete three of those levels on your first atempt you pass the test)

Lemmings Main / Lemmings 3d
« on: October 20, 2014, 11:26:11 AM »
Hi everyone

I've started playing lemmings 3d that's me onto the tricky levels, What are your guys opinion on lemmings 3d? In my opinion it's not as good as the original lemmings but nevertheless it seems not bad. At first getting used to the camera, all I can say is we must have patience when it comes to using the camera.

When I first tried playing Lemmings 3d I used the dos box and once it starts loading up you have to click control and F12 and that will speed the game up, I would recommend something (over 20000 dosbox cycles and it should run fine hopefully). There is an issue with the sound but I don't use the sound myself as I listen to online radio as I'm playing through the levels.

Here's the website for the dosbox commands, hope it can be of any help.

http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Special_Keys

I'm onto a pyramid level on the tricky rating, I think the levels have a good design personally, In a way I want to encourage anyone who has not tried lemmings 3d, do give it a go. I admit the only thing that might put you off is the camera angles and moving the camera but once you get used to that I'm sure you will like this one.

Site Discussion / Noob question
« on: October 09, 2014, 12:31:17 PM »
Hi everyone

I was wondering if I might be doing something wrong when I'm trying to add a picture like for instance maybe to take part in the level review. I click onto insert image located under the bold option then it comes up with the image tag buttons at either side but it does not seem to be any image at all. I might be going about this the wrong way.

Many thanks.

Lemmings Main / Lemmings 2 tribes favorite level.
« on: July 17, 2014, 12:15:23 AM »
Hi everyone

I was thinking about starting a thread like this a while back but what the heck lets give this one a try, What's your favorite level from the lemmings tribes, I'll start off by telling you what my favorites levels are and to make things more interesting you are allowed to pick two or your top two I guess, also if you could pick two of your least favorite and two of your favorite as well again top two least favorite.

Lets see what level gets the most votes as being the best and the worse. If you could also give us a reason why you have picked the level as being the best and the worse.

http://tle.vaarties.nl/lemmings2/solutions/amiga/beach/1/10/

My first favorite level is level 10 from the Egyptian tribe (Pyramid of Despair!) I feel that this level has that maze like feel also it can be fun watching someone else who has never played lemmings tribes before watching them play that particular level for the first time, you see them all over the pyramid.

The next level I would like to pick for being good is level nine from the shadow tribe. (SPINNY THANG.... ) The reason I picked this one is you have to use the twister in such a narrow space of land to get up and once you complete that part it feels good. As it takes skill with this one also being able to used the fan correctly. Very good level in my opinion.

My least favorite levels hmmmmmm? Level nine from the classic tribe (Flying The Mad Pursuit) this level must take a lot patient just to get right also I feel that you might need a bit of luck near the end of the level to finish things off. A bit boring also I feel

Sorry folks but I would have to pick another classic one as being the worst, this time it's level four. (Tension Sheet, Good Idea ) The reason I picked that one is I tend to find it extremely hard to get the digger and basher meeting up also I was not too sure how many lemmings you are allowed to lose on that one.

Lets get voting everybody.

Hi everyone, (Just a quick question)

I've never played lemmings chronicles before, would you guys recommend lemmings Chronicles.  ??? (looks not bad graphic wise) I might maybe need to use the dos box to get it working.
