Quote from: Geordie-Jedi on October 04, 2026, 06:04:33 PMHi there guys.

At (very long) last........We have our very own Amiga native, level editor for Lemmings 1.

After the official Amiga Lemmings 1 level editor was shown on the RMC Youtube channel
by Neil of RMC / Retro Collective, (see link below).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlFnMt3o1as&t=2s
It created a lot of interest for this awesome programme, (especially on the EAB (English Amiga Board) forums).

Despite the excitement of being able to create our own levels for our beloved Lemmings game,
and due to fears that Sony could send their lawyers after Mike Daily if he were to
release the editor without permission from Sony, it was decided to back-up the software
but not release it publicly (a fairly sensible and understandable position).

Recently on the EAB forums, once again talk of getting our access to our own native Amiga Lemmings editor popped back up.

An absolute legend of a coder called Timo Heimonen, has released an Amiga native level editor for Lemmings 1,
(as an early Christmas present to the Amiga / Lemmings community).

Link to the github =
https://github.com/timoheimonen/Amiga-Lemmings-Editor

It's already up to version 2.3
(And now supports Christmas / Holiday Lemmings).

Once you follow the steps on the github guide, you're left with a modified version of the Lemmings 1 game
(and or Holiday Lemmings). which will create either - ADF's or a WHDLoad version of the game with access
to the level editor.
This will allow you to create / play / save / and share your very own levels for Lemmings 1 / Holiday Lemmings
on the Amiga.

I believe that there are a few ex / current Amiga Lemmings fans on this forum who would enjoy this
Amiga Lemmings level editor.

Give it a blast, create your own levels, and share them with the Amiga & Lemmings community......

Let's Go !"

As this is my 1st post, I hope that it was OK to have weblinks contained within my post ?

(small warning, this is my opinion, not a honest reaction, do not harass anyone's opinions)

to be honest... this is cool!

but, it feels kinda useless :'(

i normally use neolemmix to make all my levels

i dont use emulators of amiga since it was TOO hard to get dosbox to run games

this feels something that those who use amiga emulators would like to use

still pretty cool :D

Quote from: namida on October 04, 2026, 12:58:54 AMI have moved this topic to the main NeoLemmix board as that's a more appropriate place for it than the In Development board. To avoid doubt, you are not in any trouble for this - we just like to keep things organised, especially around the Levels boards.

On a side note, a great way to figure out how stuff like this is done, is to look at existing packs. In particular, files with an "nxmi" extension are often relevant (open them with a text editor).

thanks

i was just thinking where to post this post beacuse i didnt knew :)

Quote from: Armani on October 03, 2026, 02:55:11 PMCreate a level.nxmi file inside your rank folder. You can set the order of your levels there like this:

LEVEL level 1.nxlv
LEVEL level 2.nxlv
...
LEVEL level 30.nxlv

I recommend using an existing pack as a blueprint.
Just download any NL level pack, copy and paste its level.nxmi into your directory and edit it to fit your pack. ;)
(You can edit level.nxmi with any basic text editor)

THANK YOU SO MUCH MAN

now i just have to copy that code and done!

something that i dont really like is that my levels dont have a order of first to last :'(  (only from a to z)

so that begs the tiny question... how can i put a number order to sort the levels from 1 to 30?

il be nice if you guys tell me  ;)  (im just learning new things :D )

Loap / Re: [SUG] we need a loap level editor!
October 02, 2026, 09:41:49 PM
Quote from: namida on October 02, 2026, 07:16:23 PMIt's been a while since I've touched anything L3D-related, but from memory: You should put L3DEdit in the same folder as DOS L3D. It doesn't matter if this is the same folder as Loap or not.

Loap itself does not require a copy of DOS L3D (it comes with pre-extracted and converted copies of the graphics to the more-common PNG format); only L3DEdit needs this.

ok but which non-cd version is better to download? :-\

Quote from: namida on October 02, 2026, 04:20:25 AMAlthough the original Lemmings 3D is a DOS game, the editor L3DEdit is You still need a copy of the DOS L3D game for L3DEdit to load the graphics from, but you never actually need to use DOSBox or actually run the DOS game - it's just there for the graphics files.

oh... so where do i put the 3dlemmings style folder on loap step-by-step ??? ?

btw these are the backrounds and here is how to use them

step 1: download the backrounds

step 2: move them to neolemmix

step 3: inside neolemmix, move em to styles > special > backround

and done ;)

Quote from: namida on October 01, 2026, 10:01:10 PMUploading backgrounds for your levels in this topic is fine. That being said - (this part is advisory, not a rule) make sure you tell people where to put them (ie: what style name they should be under), as a loose file doesn't carry that information on its own, and I expect most people won't bother if they have to look into the level file to figure out where to put the background.

OHH :lem-mindblown:

ok

Quote from: namida on September 30, 2026, 09:38:20 PMThe reason for the rules has been explained. Multiple times we have attempted to explain to lemmkeev what is and isn't appropriate, only for him to go and create a topic that ignores the spirit of everything said in favor of looking for some "exact words" technicality or cover story to continue posting new topics for a small number of levels. Whether this is an intentional attempt to exploit loopholes, or a genuine failure to understand, setting an explicit "post your levels in this topic only" guideline avoids any further issues.

I am sure you can understand the idea that sometimes if people are struggling to understand general rules, they may need bespoke ones specifically tailored to them, which in some cases may be a bit stricter in order to reduce the risk of misunderstandings and/or reduce the need for judgement calls that someone is struggling to make correctly.

And with this said, that's where I'm drawing the line on discussing this issue with people who are not involved in it. Going forward I will only discuss lemmkeev's individual situation further with other site staff, or with lemmkeev himself. Unless a need arises to make a public post directed at lemmkeev on this subject again, it's time for this topic to go back to its original purpose: for leemkeev to share his levels, rather than to discuss the standards of the NeoLemmix Levels board and its subforums and enforcement thereof.

yeah like... i tought posting levels with fan-made required styles on the styles topic wasn't  a problem :forehead:

anyways...

ill follow the rules and i hope i dont get another warning (beacuse im too scared of getting banned :-[ )
