NeoLemmix Main / Updating old level files
« on: August 22, 2021, 04:18:24 PM »
Hey guys its been a while!

I am trying to update .lvl files into the new format. The new editor does not read .lvl files it seems. I used an older version of the the new format editor I had that still reads .lvl files and turned them into .nxlv files. These files are now playable in the updated Neolemmix player (v12.12.1) but when I try to open them in the editor it comes up with an error message (attached). Save me!

Levels for v10 or older / [NeoLemmix] Lemmings Stampede
« on: March 08, 2017, 12:43:56 AM »
1 year in the making! 50 levels in 5 ranks. A big thanks to Nepster and IchoTolot for doing the majority of the testing.

(To get the music to work simply put all the tracks in the music subfolder where your NeoLemmix.exe is stored. If the folder doesn't exits yet, simply create a "music" subfolder where your NeoLemmix.exe is located.)

Thanks!

One issue I notice is that when I open the menu to change styles the menu came up in the same spot as the level properties menu but it appears behind it. I can't move the level properties menu because the Change Style box has to be closed first but I can't close the box because the Level Properties menu is on top of it. The only way to get out of it at that point is the close the editor in task manager.

This can be avoided by moving the level properties menu from the default middle of the screen before you open up the Styles menu, but it would suck to forget to move it before trying to change styles and then lose progress on a level! I believe this issue occurs with the music menu as well.

NeoLemmix Main / How do I mix graphic sets in new editor?
« on: October 05, 2016, 07:27:00 PM »
I read you can mix the graphic sets in the new editor but I can't figure out how. I feel like the Dirt set and the trees from the Rock set would work so well together I need to try this out!

Site Discussion / Error when trying to upload new NXP's
« on: September 16, 2016, 11:10:24 PM »
When I have a NXP attached to a post and then click 'post' I get taken to the 'start new topic' window. This happens when I attempt to post v1.47n-b as well as v1.47n-C flexi.

I have tried attaching older NXP versions instead and I can upload them fine.

edit: First time I've tried using custom music so this might have something to do with it.

Closed / [suggestion][editor]One-Way-Up Arrows
« on: June 22, 2016, 11:56:23 PM »
We have one-way-left/right arrows and one-way-down arrows what do you guys think about a potential one-way-up arrow? The terrain would be able to be bashed through but you could not dig/mine through it.

Closed / [suggestion][editor]Smaller Water Objects?
« on: May 28, 2016, 08:27:09 PM »
BitBucket: https://bitbucket.org/namida42/neolemmixplayer/issues/32/improve-fitting-of-water-to-smaller-areas

Would it be possible to create another water object that is maybe 1/4 or half the width as the normal water obstacles? Most of the time it is possible to cover up the water with steel but sometimes the large size of the water hazard can make it awkward to use in tight places.

Closed / [bug][player] Can't use keyboard while playing
« on: May 17, 2016, 05:34:39 PM »
When I use the Neolemmix editor to make a level I can use all the hotkeys fine. However now when I enter the level to test I can not use my keyboard to do things like pause and fast forward anymore. Everything was working fine until about 2 days ago and ever since it has been really tedious trying to play and test levels like this.

I have re downloaded Neolemmix and it did not fix the problem. Save Me!

Closed / [bug]Weird interactions with bashers and steel
« on: April 10, 2016, 05:34:05 PM »
I've made a few levels over the past few days and I have noticed that their are some strange interactions between bashers and steel on NeoLemmix. First thing I noticed was that if a lemmings is bashing towards steel and there are 3 or less pixels of steel above his feet he will jump up above the steel 1-3 pixels while still bashing. If the steel is arranged in a specific way on purpose it can be able to be abused to an amusing extent. In 99% of levels this probably has no effect on them but in some odd cases it may be possible to save a builder in an unintended way.

I also noticed that when I was building towards a steel wall and wanted to end the build early by bashing, it caused the lemming to turn around when he didn't even make contact with the steel. I then realized lemmings can turn around by bashing up to aprox 11-12 pixels. This can be used to make lemmings turn around without falling of a ledge. The weird thing being that if I try to replicate it with normal terrain the basher does not even come close to hitting the terrain. So why does it turn the lemmings around when they are so far away?

I have made a quick level to show off these quirks and under assumed lemmings physics this level should be impossible. It is however passable with only one lemming death at the beginning due to the builder lemming having to bash near the steel.

Level Design / Getting back into level making
« on: April 07, 2016, 07:59:07 PM »
I randomly stumbled upon Revenge of the Lemmings the other day and was pleasantly surprised to find some of my levels on there! I wish I was still around when this project was being created so I could have cleared up all the back-routes in my levels. I am working my way through carnage now and I am inspired to start making some new levels. I am assuming Neolemmix is the new standard that I should be creating levels for in this day and age?
