Lemmings Main / Thunderboard Lemmings sample disk
« on: September 29, 2019, 01:53:37 PM »
Does anyone know anything about the Lemmings sample disk that was bundled with the Media Vision Thunder Board sound card? I'm curious if there was a custom version with better sound effects for that sound card.

Images of the 5.25" disk can be seen at https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/media-vision-thunder-board-floppy-5-1829660132

Tech & Research / Lemmings - High Performance mode
« on: July 27, 2015, 09:20:42 AM »
I was just wondering what all the differences are, when using the High Performance mode in the MS-DOS version of first Lemmings game.

The obvious difference is the improved color for control interface, but what else is effected when enabling High Performance mode?

Lemmings Main / Flawed releases
« on: July 24, 2015, 12:35:21 AM »
I thought it would be useful to create a list of flawed releases, after my recent experience:

Lemmings (CD Edition) from GT Interactive in the USA
Problem: Limited VGA only, since the high performance option was removed
Reference: http://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=2202.0

Lemmings - Award Winners: Platinum Edition CD-ROM version in the UK
Problem: Based off version with CD Audio, but lacks the CD audio tracks.

Lemmings Volume 1-3 (Neon Edition)
Problem: Lemmings seems based off version with CD Audio, but lacks the CD audio tracks.

Are there any others? there seems to be too many flawed releases around.

It is disappointing most of the CD releases are flawed, as the disks releases have even worse problems (copy protected disks).

Help & Guides / Lemmings (CD edition)
« on: July 22, 2015, 01:58:44 AM »
I just got the CD edition of Lemmings, and it seems like the worst version:
CGA support has been removed
Tandy support has been removed
VGA support is more limited
The Lemmings.bat still uses VGALEMMI.EXE instead of LEMMINGS.EXE
The MANUAL.TXT still references files (CGALEMMI.EXE, TGALEMMI.EXE, VGALEMMI.EXE) that don't even exist.

My main issue is the more limited VGA, compared the demo version of first level (21 colors)

To the first level in the full version (15 colors):

Is there any way to get the higher amount of colors, like the demo version?

I'm using the game under DosBox (VGA only mode), and the follow command line for Lemmings:
LEMMINGS.EXE -v -o (full version) / VGALEMMI.EXE -v -o (demo version)

Lemmings Main / PC versions with CD audio
« on: July 07, 2015, 05:34:19 AM »
Exactly which PC versions of the 2D Lemmings games offered CD audio for the music?

I have seen the original CD version of Lemmings for MS-DOS mentioned, but some of the re-releases seem to lack the CD tracks.

Is the double pack CD version of Oh! No! More Lemmings & Lemmings for MS-DOS, the only version of Oh! No! More Lemmings with CD audio for music?

Did any of the later 2D games offer CD audio for music?
