Tech & Research / Sound problem
« on: June 04, 2013, 03:19:01 PM »
Can somebody explain to me what is this all about?
http://cd.textfiles.com/mmcd/GAMES/L2/README.TXT

It's a text file included with 'Lemmings 2' PC demo. It's something about Tandy sound driver capable of playing CD audio tracks (I think). But, I can't understand what that man want to say in this text. Is it possible to play audio tracks using Tandy driver in this demo or not? I can't get any sound with DOSBox with Tandy driver.
Actually, I was hoping to use CD audio with 'Lemmings 2' (full game), but I can't get anything with this. Is there any way to use a driver (from some other game) with Lemmings 2, and get CD audio to play instead of midi? There is a version of 'Lemmings' and 'Oh no, more Lemmings' capable to use CD audio, but I can't find anything there to use with 'Lemmings 2'. Or all this is just big-nothing, and it can't be done this way?

Tech & Research / DOSBox works too fast
« on: February 05, 2013, 04:50:26 AM »
Running 'Lemmings 2' with DOSBox doesn't goes well. It's too fast, even level clocks is too fast (maybe about... 15%). It is playable, but it's obviously faster then it should be. I don't know what to do with this anymore. Nothing I try to do with configuration can't set the speed to the right one. And the problem is not just mine, it works the same on the uploaded Youtube videos from (at least) two sources. So, if anyone have some idea how to fix this problem, please tell me.

Lemmings Main / Lemmings 2 demo
« on: January 27, 2013, 01:43:17 AM »
How many demo versions of 'Lemmings 2' exists? I was able to find 3; Amiga, PC and Archimedes. I thought there will be (at least) one more, for Atari ST, but I can't find any trace of that. There are 5 'new' levels (levels not included in the full version of the game) in that demo versions.

Amiga - 2 Circus, 1 Polar
PC - 2 Circus (same as on the Amiga), 2 Medieval
Archimedes - 5 Circus (levels 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 from the full version)
practice levels: 1 medieval, 1 polar (both same as in the full version)

Only difference between Amiga and PC 'Circus' levels is 'User' skill, available only on the PC demo.

So, if anyone knows of any other demo version, let me know.
