Intended solution to my level.   I aimed for a lower difficulty this time compared to the super tough ones from the previous contest.

Updated the link as well.

V 0.07 is out!

- New level at 2 12 for explaining longer timeskips. Text there also mentions where to change hotkeys.

- Text at 2 06 has changed.

- Text at 2 11 has changed.

- Text at the new 2 14 has changed.

For any "No Hotkey Assigned" cases, I would push towards any chosen standard layout should assign these. :8():

General Discussion / Re: A message from Flopsy
September 09, 2019, 12:13:27 PM
As this post seems final, I will also make a statement as I feel responsible for this developent:

I don't dislike you. I never did dislike you.

I just stopped testing/playing the content, because my critique and backroutes resulted in me getting angry messages and those resulted in arguments. Of course those arguments made me angry at some points and I called this out as I am a very direct person, but I never disliked you. I dislike some levels and the arguments, but not you as a person. I just wanted arguments to stop and not covering content seemed the easiest solution to me. I also never noticed a general dislike against you from other users, other than 1 argument with Arty at some point.

I love packs that don't rely on the original tilesets. I am a fan of custom tilesets. I just point out where things are unclear or the tileset lacks something, even if that is how it worked in the original and if it were not for my feedback resulting in arguments I would have gladly played the packs.

People in general over the past few years played less packs than before and were more occupied with other stuff. At least this is what it seems to me.

I really liked playing the multiplayer sessions with you and also enjoyed the little rivalry we had in Lix and I am sorry if you felt otherwise.

I also never intended to sound patronising to you. It's just that when I see a member struggle with a puzzle (be it not being able to solve it, or really overcomplicating it resulting in frustraition), I tend to send hints in spoiler-tags and/or a replay to offer optional help.

If you still feel like leaving I will say goodbye. If this somehow changed your mind I will gladly welcome you back with open arms and also offer to cover packs from you again if you can promoise me not getting angry if I backroute half of it or have some different opinions, you always have the last word in your content and are not required to change it to my demands.

I hereby offer you an apology and an offer to come back. If you can't accept this, I say goodbye and good luck on your way.

Your still friend, IchoTolot.

Well, with the thicker floor being back again in Crane's R1 the old backroute works again as well. :P

Resubmitted my solution for Crane's R1. My solution for Nessy's level is still functional. :)

As I read through an outrage on Discord that this is another huge Brickwall, they only things you need to do to your styles in regards of the shimmier:

1.) Open your custom pick-up skill image with paint.

2.) Extend the picture vertically by 1 more pick-up skill.

3.) Move the pick-up skill icons down to the bottom from the climber onwards.

4.) Fill in a shimmier pick-up skill into the gap. (If you could draw all others then you can also do this!) --> Save.

5.) Update the corresponding .nxmo file to say 19 frames.

6.) Save and submit graphic+nxmo with the others to Nessy. DONE!

I attached 2 pictures: The default style who already has the shimmier sprite and another one with no such sprite.

I also noticed that plom_bastemp:pickup already has the sprite so I mark it off the list. :P

Here are my solutions to all V1 levels. My live-solving recordings begin to come up tomorrow on my Youtube channel so that you can see how I got to the solutions. Your decision if you watch them or the replay first. :)

That did not happen when I replaced my exe, so I also thought it would be harmless as well - as you described there is no settings file. For me the only change were the ones that I described there and I am also riddled what went wrong here.

Are there any setting stored in the exe itself ???

For a resolution fix maybe just change the "WindowWidth=960; WindowHeight=600" to you screen's dimensions.

I'll add a warning to my post.

Note: This topic is ONLY for posting updates to your levels, or making late submissions. All other posts will be deleted. If you want to discuss the levels, post replays, etc, please do so in the Discussion Topic.

Please follow these rules for updates:

1. When posting a new updated version of a level, remove any old updated versions of that level --> Have all your recent updates stored in 1 post! I will delete such old posts eventually if the author doesn't; so don't store any important information in them.
2. Make a new post for a new update; do not edit your most recent post. You may, however, post updates to multiple entries (if you have more than one) in the same post.
3. Use the same filename as found in the ZIP of the entered levels, with "V2" "V3" etc added at the end. No matter how minor an update is, give it a new number.
4. Do not post in this topic, unless it's to post an update to your levels. Use the discussion topic instead for anything else.

Please use the same naming format as in the zip file:  User1_Levelname_R3V5.lvl ---> Level "Levelname" by User1   for Rule 3   Version 5 of the level

For late submissions also, please use the same kind of filename as is used in the main levels download - ie: your username, and "R1" "R2" or "R3" to mark which rule the level is for. Remember that the maximum-of-two-levels-per-user rule still applies, even for late submissions. Please be sure to check the original contest announcement topic for the rules; as the notes in the discussion topic are simply meant as reminders, not full explanations of the rules.

Please use the right naming format when posting updates! That would be less confusions and less work for everyone.

Both solutions are exactly intended.

I solved some more levels of neutrality.

Here's my solution for rest of the levels and my best attempts so far for level 32 and 41.

I have downloaded and played three or four other packs from the forum and I feel lemmings united is the toughest among them.

Can you recommend me some easier packs for me to build up more skills?

I'm afraid to start tension level for now. :(

All solutions are either intended or acceptable alternatives! Good job.

For 32:
Spoiler
Your first part is correct, but the 2nd part is still wrong.

For 41:
Spoiler
You've nearly got it! You are missing 1 already known trick that can save you another destructive skill and then it should be easy mode. ;)

For easier packs that are still pretty be challenging in the later ranks I could recommend the classic packs DoveLems and PimoLems packs from Dodochacalo and Pieuw that I did the NL conversions for. Also the Lemmings Plus series is always worth a peek, the earlier entries are usually the easiest ones there.

If you still want it challenging but not yet United challenging I could also recommend my earlier work: Lemmings Reunion. It's still quite hard, but not United hard. Let's say Neutrality is already ~4th rank territory there.

I would agree with mobius on the botton there and would propose extending the buttons trigger by ~2 in the downwards direction.

I would also encourage others to add to this list if they notice another style which needs updated pick-ups, not to call authors out, but rather to warn users that there is still something missing here. Also it is nice to have a complete list of what still needs updating. ;)

V 0.06 is out!

- Changed the hotkey displaying inside the texts.

I attached an exp NL version that displays the actual user hotkeys inside the text. Let me know if your setup breaks any textlines!

Without the exp version some textlines will definitely not fit. ;)

The exp also includes the "preview texts don't show again after going to menu" fix and the "can middle-click on preview screen, to force viewing the preview text" change.

Warning: Make a backup for your settings and hotkeys files as there might be a problem with the exp changing that.
