Title: Install Games
Post by: df on October 09, 2023, 12:11:35 PM
Sorry for my bad English. I'm from Germany and would love to play Lemming again because I'm a big fan of the game. Unfortunately, I'm not good at computers.
For example, Nepster, LemRunner or Blizzard of Lemm, which I downloaded as a ZIP file, do not open with the NeoLemmix_V12.12.5(1) player. Only the Neoplayer games themselves. What am I doing wrong? How to do it correctly?
Please don't laugh at my ignorance.

Firstly, make sure that you are getting the levels from the NeoLemmix Levels board, since some of these packs exist in multiple versions for different engines.

I'll use NepsterLems as an example. The NepsterLems topic on NeoLemmix Levels is here (https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=2508.0), and the first post has, at the top, a zip download. You need to unpack the zip into the same folder as NeoLemmix, so that the levels go into the "levels" subfolder. Then open NeoLemmix and the levels should appear in the level select menu.

I'm at a loss. I did everything like that.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/fkrqzojlfrwnen7/NepsterLems.zip?dl=1
and
  NeolemmixPlayer unpacked into a folder.

In the level select there are only levels from the Neolemmix player.
However, once it worked with Lemmings Halloween 2023.

Sorry, maybe I'm too stupid...

Hi df,

I've assumed you downloaded the NL player from here: https://www.neolemmix.com/?page=neolemmix (https://www.neolemmix.com/?page=neolemmix)

I've attached screenshots of my NL directory so that you can see what it needs to be to work

Here's what your folder should look like when you extract the contents of the NL download from the website I linked to above:

Here, the reason for the "second" in the folder name is because I already have a directory called NeoLemmix_V12.12.5 on my computer. You can of course name the folder just NeoLemmix_V12.12.5 or whatever you like. This is just an example.

Now here's what the levels folder should look like when you extract the example of NepsterLems mentioned in the posts above:

Before I took the NepsterLems folder of the pack download and extracted to the "levels" folder, there was only Lemmings Redux and the NL Intro Pack, since NL downloads now ship with both of those packs. Now you can see I have 3 level packs in the "levels" folder, after I extracted the NepsterLems pack to it.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you need further assistance.

Hello kaywhyn,
first of all: Thank you very much for your help.

My folder looks different.

Perfect, it looks all good. I assume all these files are in a folder called NeoLemmix_V12.12.5 or whatever you called it? If that's the case, you can just delete the last one with the stacked books icon. Now just open the NepsterLems download, select the folder, and then extract it to the "levels" folder and then you should be good to go with this pack.

Yippee, as our little friends say.
Now I have found the right way and have already loaded various level packs.
Thank you again.
