Title: SuperLemmini topics board
Post by: WillLem on September 30, 2020, 12:46:22 AM
Since SuperLemmini is still used by several members of the community, and there appears to be growing interest in it recently, perhaps it could have its own board, like NeoLemmix and Lix do?

This would make finding packs for it a lot easier, for one thing. Also, the "other engines" it's currently lumped in with are mostly defunct ones like Vanilla Lemmix, Lemmings 2, etc.

At the moment, I could understand not wanting to give SuperLemmini its own board, since Tsyu has not been active for a while and although updates and additional features (such as a level editor) have been promised, they do not yet exist. As and when they appear though, I'd say it's definitely worth letting it stand out as a currently-maintained, currently-used platform, for which custom user content is still being created, played, and discussed.

yes I agree with that of course, Since I love Superlemmini, That's why I've been converting many Packs from regular lemminini. Putting my packs mixed in with ones from other formats (like vanilla, etc)
makes it more difficult to find, I agree. Also I would like more people to be interested in my Superlemmini packs, whether it be the original remakes or the Custom packs like Lemmings Reunion and Pimolems I've
converted. I think under Superlemmini's board they should add a suboard that states Superlemmini levels that way one could go straight for that subboard and find just the Superlemmini packs, instead of any packs
whether Superlemmini or lemmix or lemming2,3 etc in just the board Levels for other engines.

I think this is a good idea! I totally support this.

I'd be very happy if SuperLemmini had it's own board, especially since Tsyu said there maybe will be more features taken from the Amiga version, which would help it to be more different from the other engines. :D

Sadly, I kinda doubt it's gonna happen now, like WillLem said, Tsyu has not given signs of activity since a while (I hope they're alright) and SuperLemmini is still not as popular as Neolemmix and Lix. We're only 4 or 5 (maybe a bit more but I'm not sure) active members on the Forum that use this engine as of now. And there are no way that I can think of to know if guests and people that are not registered actually use it too.

But that's just me being pessimistic, I really wish SuperLemmini had it's own board. This engine kept growing both in personality and in popularity in the last months and has so much to offer, I'm sure it has hidden depths that could make it even better, we'll see! :cute:

This appears to be a one-off surge of converting existing packs to SuperLemmini, and in particular I'd note there's far more Lemmix and Lemmini content out there than SuperLemmini and they don't have their own boards; including that they've had more original content in recent times than SuperLemmini has. If it remains over time that a lot of packs (including new ones) are getting converted, or even more so, that people are outright making original content for SuperLemmini, I'd be happy to look at this again.

Number of users is less of a concern; it's the amount (and to some extent, the nature) of content that would determine if this happens.
