Title: A Link to the Past race thread
Post by: Proxima on September 15, 2019, 06:01:07 PM
I know a few of us would be interesting in racing A Link to the Past, so this is a thread for coordinating races, whether it's vanilla, randomised, or customised.

At the moment, I'm not able to participate myself, so I've proposed a race where I make a customised seed for everyone to play, and if it's at a good time for me then I'd be in chat to ask for hints if you get stuck :P Actually, I've asked in discord and there has been some interest, so I've already made the seed.

Would Sunday 29 September be a good day for the race?

Proxima making custom seeds for others to race? Sounds delightfully devilish, Seymour

Not sure about you but I do race ALttP rando competitively, so I might have an edge. Still it should all be in good fun and I guess we're in for a few trolls

EDIT: I actually found your messages on the rando discord, but it seems you left the server already so I couldn't message you on there ???

Yeah, I was on the rando server briefly, but I left when I found the OOT Randomizer and got tired of the constant announcements. :P

We had the race today and it was mostly a success. Nessy finished first with a time of 2:40, with Colorful Arty only 5 minutes behind.

Unfortunately, it seems my connection isn't able to handle watching the stream and being part of voice chat at the same time, so most of the race wasn't much fun for me, but at least once I gave up on the voice chat I was able to watch the rest of the stream.

We might do another similar race at some time in the future, but at the moment there are no fixed plans. This topic will remain open in case any of us want to propose another LTTP race at any time.
