Title: "Flopsy Quits" collaborative pack - Sign up Thread (Postponed indefinitely)
Post by: GigaLem on January 09, 2017, 10:22:36 PM
So a couple of months ago, me and few forum members were on discord discussing lemmings levels
and then i came up with the most Diabolical idea

A 30 level pack, of "Hard-for-Flopsy" levels, and not only that, each level will be made by two people at least hence the name of this pack

Flopsy Quits
logo has yet to be made

how will it work? here are the criterias

Collaborative Criterias
Criteria 1
One person sets the terrain, the other sets the objects
Criteria 2
One Person edits with one tileset, the other edits with another tileset
Criteria 3 (for more than 3 people)
Pass the level around, each person adds to it
Any can edit steel on any criteria

Hard-for-flopsy Criterias
99 Release Rate
100% to be saved
Lemmings face immediate danger
and lastly this one is left unwritten because its not required
Tight time limit

With that said, How do you send a level?
Either PM on the forums, or DM someone on discord

Here's the forum discord topic for those interested
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

How do I sign up?
Post here however there are 8 slots and before the this topic was made, Flopsy and Wafflem have already signed up too

1.Wafflem
2.Flopsy
3.Mobius(?)
4.???
5.???
6.???
7.???
8.???

What if the sign ups close with slots still open?
If there are any exceptions, they will take their place

So go ahead and sign up now

When I saw this, I thought it was a topic about Flopsy quitting working on a collab pack. XD

Me too.

I might sign up, but I have to think about it. I really don't have much inspiration or interest in making new levels these days.

I normally tried not to do this, but in this case I think very few people would object to me unilaterally adding punctuation to the thread title to help minimize the confusion.  If you don't like it you're welcome to change it back (for your own posts here) and I'll leave that alone.  I would argue for a better title actually.

TBH I was gonna add quotation marks anyways but thanks for correcting also

@Mobius: I hope you don't mind me add you to the list but with a question mark on it since you consider signing up

I will join and try to send a good entry. I would like to do the terrain part as making a good solution/editing skills etc. is definitely not my strong suit right now.

Where as I tend to be the opposite, I make terrible level layouts but make good solutions. I'd rather be in charge of objects and solutions where possible

Just want to let everyone know that even if I am participating, I will only be able to do 1-2 levels, preferably in the MegSEBytes style (Criteria 1). I encourage others to participate when they have the time!

Speaking of which, Sign ups close within a week

I decided on extending the sign up time, you have one more month, because we need some extra hands
Title: Regarding this Collab pack
Post by: GigaLem on February 23, 2017, 06:44:30 AM
I took out the sign up close date because there being a lack of interest for this pack.
I'm thinking about canceling it for the time being and opening it again at a later time.
I've only have three sign up (myself included) for this but not other interests for it, I feel its because of poor timing.
I shall open a poll for this thread regarding if people want to see this take off or not.
The poll will be open for a week, the winning vote decides the fate of this pack.

oh and if the project ends up Canned, I'll request that Wafflem take off the pack from the level pack list

I say keep it alive but maybe cut down the goal total of levels? Or why don't we just try to make as many good levels as we feel like.
But I'm okay with postponing it if you want.

I think individually-made levels should also be accepted. Making a good collab level can be tricky, especially if it must have a Hard-For-Flopsy rule.

I think halving the number of levels would be a good idea, would be better than completely canning the project =

UPDATE!
As decided by you guys, the pack shall be postponed, however this postpone shall be indefinite.
For when it'll be up again, well my suggestion is...
when the LOTY2016 winner is decided, when more people are interested, and at least three months from now (Undecided)
