Title: Would you rather...?
Post by: arttu98 on January 30, 2014, 12:17:05 PM
Rules:

The next guy must answer the question and explain why (s)he made that choice, then ask a new question for the next guy!

Would you rather:

Be blind
or
Be deaf?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Minim on January 30, 2014, 01:02:29 PM
Be deaf, [because if I was blind and tried to iron a shirt I would give myself a horrendous burn]

If you wanted to vandalise something would it rather be:

A shop
or
A library?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: arttu98 on January 30, 2014, 02:19:06 PM
A shop. Free stuff, yay!   :D

(Adding to the rules that you need to explain why you made that choice, that seems to be more interesting.)

Would you rather...
Have money but no energy
or
Have energy but no money?

A: Have money but no energy [As long as it's today, because when I wake up tomorrow I will eventually have more energy]

Q: Would you rather drink...

Cherry flavoured tea
or
Raspberry flavoured coffee?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Clam on February 07, 2014, 07:48:12 AM
Cherry flavoured tea (because I prefer tea to coffee more than I prefer raspberry to cherry)

Would you rather:
- Climb Mt Everest
or
- Sail solo around the world?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: ccexplore on February 08, 2014, 12:27:34 AM
So altitude sickness vs seasickness. Yay.

I'll pick sailing, not because seasickness is preferable, but more because I'm a wimp and doubt I'll physically survive climbing Mt Everest, even though I much rather have the view on top of Mt Everest that I have yet to experience, than the boring endless ocean that is totally nothing new to me.

-----------

Would you rather:
- Be at a dead-end, low paying job but have plenty of time for Lemmings and games
or
- Be at a decent 6-figure annual salary job with decent career advancement prospects, but now have no time for Lemmings and games

;P Haha sorry if this is way too real life for some people.  I know I should come up with a more fun question, but can't at the moment.

On second thought, I think as a wimp, perhaps it would be far more prudent actually for me to go with Mt Everest, even if it may be more physically uncomfortable to endure.  The thing is, the ocean is way too vast, and if an accident were to happen and I become "lost at sea", I feel like there is probably a far greater chance of no one able to find me in the vastness, which is not a prospect I want to even begin thinking about.

Whereas I feel like if my life depends on a search-and-rescue, Mt Everest may have less area to cover.  But I could be wrong though, perhaps the climate in that area can make rescue challenging in its own way.

[update: then again, perhaps with proper preparation, the above shouldn't matter.  To start, a GPS and a satellite phone (usable anywhere in the world) is probably a must, to ensure prompt means of both calling for rescue as well as narrowing down the search area.]

lol ccexplore; +5 for really putting some thought into it. (perhaps too much? :P )
me I'd probably sail around the world; I too get seasick but I think I'd try anything and everything to combat it because I really love the ocean.  :(

your questions is really interesting actually; I myself am sort of faced with this decision. In the end I don't think its the major crux of happiness, as there are rich/busy people who are happy and those that r sad. And then there are also poor/lazy people are happy and those that r sad as well.
Personally.... I'll take the low paying job, I'm not interested in lots of money, just love and happiness.
Wait actually, I really have no idea.. :/

I would take a higher paying job and adventure out into the unknown. I can say I've done lemmings and will miss it but there plenty more to do in life.

Would you rather: learn to play violin or trumpet?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Minim on February 10, 2014, 10:42:02 PM
Violin, because with four strings and a bow you can create more interesting music than the three keyed trumpet, and also, asthmatic people like me might find the trumpet too exhausting to play unlike the violin.

Would you rather climb...

A lamppost
or
A bushy tree?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: namida on February 18, 2014, 07:18:55 AM
The lamppost is just a repetitive matter of strength. Trees often offer opportunity for strategic thinking and clever manouvers - as well as the opportunity to take a rest if need be. I'll take the tree. =P

Would you rather be a climber or a floater? Assume they work (as far as realistically possible) the same way IRL as they do in Lemmings (obviously, with the exception that the surface doesn't have to be 100% flat, as long as it's not overhanging or anything like that).
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: ccexplore on February 24, 2014, 12:29:19 PM
Being a climber does sound more adventurous and tempting, and there are a few situations I can think of where higher ground = safety.

Still I picked the floater--seems like it has more lifesaving potential than the climber, and I'm more wimp than adventurer. ;P

==========================

Would you rather live in a world where computer and console and mobile games (including Lemmings) never existed but the Internet does, vs a world where the Internet never existed but computer/console games does?

[I originally just say "Lemmings", but think it will be more balanced to include all computer games rather than just our beloved one.]
[edit: included console games as well to further up the stake]
[edit2: added mobile games (cellphones, tablets, etc) as well.  Goddammit, too many kinds of computing devices nowadays! :XD:]
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Minim on April 15, 2014, 03:23:56 PM
I'd say the internet perhaps, depends if I like the idea of socialising with friends or not. But also, there are many internet games around too, so what would be the point of buying a console?
(I'm pretty sure that someone else would come up with a better opinion than mine. :-\)

Anyway, here's a lemming-related question. If you were going out to town and decided you had to wear something Lemmings-related would you wear a green wig or a blue onesie?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: namida on April 23, 2014, 02:54:17 PM
Green wig. Heck, I might even experiment with dying my hair, especially if it's a wash-out.

Would you rather: Have to solve Mayhem 29 five times in a row with only a mouse (no keyboard) and pause disabled, or have to get 100% on (LPII) Genius 9?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Minim on October 15, 2014, 06:48:55 AM
Genius 9 100%, because I'd rather think of ways to slow down the machine and make things easier for me for example, utilising a handheld mouse rather than the touchpad.

OK, haven't played this for a while, so this time there are three options. If you want to blow up something would you rather blow up..

A workplace?
or
A block of flats?
or
A train?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: grams88 on October 15, 2014, 10:38:02 PM
I would probably go for a block of flats as it brings back memories of a similiar thing that happened in our town back in the 1990s.

As a adrenaline junkie myself, would you like to try a (Bungee Jump) or a (tandem skydive) I've done a bungee jump back in 2012, it was great fun.

Tandem Skydive.  :scared:

Would you rather be a bomber or a blocker? <---- wierd question
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Wafflem on November 05, 2014, 06:24:57 PM
Blocker, because I'd like to guide lemmings in the right direction and stop them from falling off high places, no matter how tired my arms get.

Would you rather fall into a bottomless pit, or fall into volcanic lava?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Minim on November 08, 2014, 08:00:54 PM
A: The bottomless pit. How long can I scream for?

Q: Here is a Pokemon question (One for Giga perhaps? ;)). Apart from sleep which of the five major status conditions would you rather be?

Poisoned, Paralyzed, Burned, or Frozen?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Crane on November 08, 2014, 08:04:51 PM
A: Frozen.  Let it go!  Let it go!  Can't hold me back any more!  Plus I think it seems to be the least hazardous...

Q: Would you rather be roasted by a flamethrower or chopped up into sushi by a shredder?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Minim on November 08, 2014, 08:20:42 PM
A: Roasted by a flamethrower. Like all humans do we prefer to eat cooked food rather than raw.

Q: If you have no hands and had to play a musical instrument with your feet would you rather play

A guitar?
A xylophone?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: grams88 on May 19, 2015, 07:11:00 PM
I would play the xylophone, I think playing the guitar with your feet would be very hard. lol

Would you rather play

Original Lemmings

or

Oh no more Lemmings

Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: namida on May 19, 2015, 07:21:31 PM
ONML. I haven't played it as much, so some levels might actually pose a challenge due to not knowing the solution like the back of my hand.

Would you rather eat:
- a live mouse
or
- mildly radioactive chocolate cake
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: grams88 on May 19, 2015, 07:31:31 PM
Oh if I remember fear factor a show where they used to do stunts and stuff like that. I remember one of the challenges was to eat a rat, Now I could be wrong but is that not dangerous.

I would go for a (Mildly radioactive chocolate cake) sounds okay I think, well probably not.

Would you like to live a

constant winter

or

constant summer?

Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: namida on May 19, 2015, 07:39:08 PM
Winter, definitely. I can barely stand the heat of summer; on the other hand cold doesn't bother me too much (plus it's much easier to warm up than cool down!).

Would you rather:
- have to listen to Justin Bieber non-stop for 24 hours
or
- have to listen to Nyancat (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUlwu4) non-stop for 24 hours
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: bsmith on July 05, 2015, 04:31:29 PM
Justin Bieber - My workplace already airs the local pop music station everyday, which includes Bieber and similar stuff.

Would you rather have only one arm or only one leg?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: GigaLem on July 09, 2015, 05:17:09 AM
one arm, if i can't play smash i can still play DDR

Would you rather have your last name to hitler or never eat chocolate again?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: grams88 on July 26, 2015, 08:52:14 PM
Oh Giga I don't think I would like any of them to be honest but if I have to choose, yes I will give up chocolate as I feel I still have many other plessures left such as pepsi max. lol

Okay I might pose a scary question. hope it's okay.

Would you rather be put to death by (The Brazen Bull) or (The Breaking Wheel)

Oh my those devices are horrible.

Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Lemika on October 01, 2015, 05:11:22 AM
Well, they're both slow and painful ways to die, but the Bronze Bull is more innovative. I'll take it. If I must be executed in such a fashion, it might as well leave as much of an impression as possible!

Would you rather not be able to access your computer for a month, or not be able to go out of doors for a month?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: bsmith on December 28, 2015, 06:27:57 PM
I'll opt for no computer for a month.  I have other things to occupy my free time and not going outside would really mess with my almost-daily exercise.

Would you rather lose access your bike/car/transportation or your house/apartment/residence for a month?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: grams88 on November 27, 2016, 01:01:35 AM
I would go for the bike/car/transportation option. I could probably walk and get to the places I usually go to, might not cause too much hassle.

Would you rather spend a year in prison or six months locked in your room?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: PixieDreams on June 05, 2017, 02:23:47 PM
Six months locked in my room, since it's familiar and I can do more things in it.
Would you rather have a dog or a cat?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: grams88 on February 05, 2018, 12:46:57 AM
I'll go for a dog as I find them very friendly, We have a dog called Cassie.

Would you rather eat (donar kebabs) for a year or (fish suppers) for a year. (Not allowed anything else.
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: Supersalmas2 on November 22, 2018, 11:44:26 AM
I'll go for donar kebabs..

Would you rather listen to Justin Bieber song Baby or don't have internet at all ?
Title: Re: Would you rather...?
Post by: nin10doadict on November 23, 2018, 04:50:19 PM
That would obviously depend on the timeframe. Are we talking just one listen of the song, or playing continuously for 24 hours?
How long are we talking no internet?
If the time periods are equivalent I think the song would be worse. I'd rather have no internet for 24 hours than listen to "Baby" for 24 hours.
