Title: New Lemmix Site
Post by: EricLang on March 15, 2009, 01:44:19 PM
Finally I uploaded my Lemmix things (dos-clones + sourcecode, level-editor) to my new website:

Here it is:

I've heard of this "Lemmix" but I know virtually nothing about it.

Lemmix is a mix of lemmings things:

1. A level editor
2. An exact clone of the old dos-games but designed to run under windows.
3. The source code of #2 and maybe later for #1

If it is free, I'd like a link on where to get it!

That was what I thought it was...
Title: Old version!
Post by: Tsyu on March 19, 2009, 11:08:35 PM
The Lemmix Editor on this site is an older version (0.0.2.0) than the one on the old site (0.0.10.0). Unless there is a good reason for a rollback, you should upload the latest version of the editor.

Hmm I will have a look at that! Will upload the right version this week, if it's wrong.

I got the Lemmix level editor, but something must be strangely wrong with it, because there appears to be no way to use an object other than the first one in the set. Same goes with terrain. You may want to consider making that a bit more obvious.

There's a wee button above the thumbnail of the terrain / object! Push that to see all the possible pieces!

Press F11 to show the inspector of the selected tile(s) or object(s)

Will it work with lemmings for windows? If it does can someone tell me how to do that. ???

It will, but only if you replace existing levels!

Open the directory Lemmings for Windows is installed in - if it is on a CD, you'll obviously need to copy and paste onto your Hard Drive -  go into the level folder, then you have a choice of either Original or ONML levels. Create a backup copy of both folders, in case something goes wrong! Then edit to your heart's content.

How do I make it work with the low resolution sets?
Title: Up-to-date version
Post by: Tsyu on April 02, 2009, 07:01:33 PM
It's been two weeks, so I have uploaded an up-to-date version of the editor to the file portal. If you have downloaded the Lemmix editor from the new site, use this one instead.

Sorry. Updated my version at the site too.

Updated the clones too. Version 1.3 now:

Solved Bug: entering levelcodes did not work above level 20, this works ok now.

New feature: Replay files **.lrb) files can be opened directly with the program. Use "open with" in windows explorer or drag from the windows explorer to a pictogram on your desktop.

Just wondering, are you ever going to do Holiday Lemmings '94?

Also, your Holiday Lemmings '93 clone is missing the music.

Hmm Holiday 94 is easy too add: few hours work.
I'll see if I can get the musics for the holiday versions...

While you're at it, I suggest using my fixed versions of two of the music files. In these versions, tune1.mod plays at the correct speed and jb.mod has the correct drum beat.

Thanks, I will have a look at that.
I just saw that Holdiay Lemmings 94 contains the Holiday Lemmings 93 levels as well.
So 32 new levels and 32 old levels. I have to figure this out. Bit of extra work to make the clone.
But it's coming soon.

Since that's the case, you could consider replacing Holiday Lemmings '93 with '94. After all, '94 is just '93 with more levels and the ONML music instead of Christmas music (I don't know why). In your case, you could play the Christmas music in the '93 levels, and the ONML music in the '94 levels.

Of course, you can also keep Holiday Lemmings '93, if you wish to do that.

It's very possible, actually. Make sure you've redownloaded the latest version from EricLang's site. The included documentation will tell you how to import and use the graphic sets.

I'll get to that... a little later, such as next time I feel like making lemmings levels.  Which is very soon, actually.  I don't know what's up with my computer, but it seems that Windows finds crashing programs fun, because first we tried fixing Windows Explorer by updating the program that appeared to be causing the problem, but now my favorite computer game keeps crashing!  Of course, if Windows does what it wants to, it'll crash THAT to just for the heck of it, won't it...

...There!  Let's just hope that it's been updated since the last time I downloaded it...

Curious what's the crashing problem. but I guess it's your computers problem :)

Lemmings Holiday 94 almost completed. All I need is:

- the different texts in the screen after you've done a level
- the final screen text

Forgot where this information is in. This week I'm on holiday, after that I hope to upload it.

Just curious, did you decide to use the music fixes that I provided? I hope so, since those are more accurate to the Amiga version.

Fortunately, Lemmix doesn't crash!

@Tsyu: Yes I used the two songs in the link you provided.
@Dullstart: Very good :)

I think I know why SPORE crashes, I just can't figure out how to solve the problem.
