Hi everyone,
I've been playing Lemmings for Windows 95 for many years now – and even today I'm still playing it on Windows 11. It's a true classic for me and I really love the original Windows 95 version, especially the music.
Recently, I started looking for an alternative and came across the Java-based Lemmini versions. They are pretty good and I appreciate the effort behind them. However, I noticed that they use the DOS version music, which sounds different (and honestly a bit strange) compared to the Windows 95 soundtrack.
I tried to replace the music files with the ones from the Windows 95 version, but unfortunately I couldn't get it to work.
Does anyone know if there is a newer version of Lemmini (or another engine) that supports or already includes the original Windows 95 music? I would really love to play with that specific soundtrack.
Thanks in advance! :lemming:

Hi, welcome to the Forums!
We can get the Win95 Lemmings music working in RetroLemmini for sure. Try this:
1) In your RetroLemmini directory, go to
resources/levels/1_orig and replace the levelpack.ini file there with the one attached to this post.
2) Make sure that the .MID music files from your copy of WinLemm95 are in
resources/music. You can find them in WINLEMM/MUSIC.
That should do it. Note that some of the tunes don't have Win95 replacements so they'll play the DOS/Amiga version as normal.
If that doesn't work, report back here and we can try something else.
Hello, thank you for your help.
I will be away for 10 days and after that I will be able to try your solution and let you know.
But I'm sure it will work.
