Title: [✓][BUG] Can't Extract to Desktop Folder
Post by: The Dragon on December 16, 2024, 04:33:53 AM
No issues downloading, then extracting "NeoLemmix" to a folder on my desktop.
SuperLemmix 2.8.2 downloaded & unzipped but will not extract to a desktop folder. Goes through the motions but nothing is in the folder after the extractor stops...
Using NCH Express Zip v9.04

Suggestions? Trying to get this on my wife's computer before Christmas (She loved the game when it came out!)

Just off the top of my head as an educated guess, have you tried trying another extractor program to see if that inadvertently fixes things? I've never heard of NCH Express Zip and v9.04 isn't the most up to date version anyway. There are other extractor programs you could try to fix the issue that may fix it just to being both more well-established/newer/better, or may inadvertently fix it just by switching extractor programs such as the ones I recommend: 7-Zip or WinRAR.

Also, do just keep in mind, especially on older computers, SuperLemmix will take longer to extract, SuperLemmix compressed is 48.9 megabytes and NeoLemmix is just 6.6 megabyes

What Silken said. I'd recommend using 7-Zip (https://www.7-zip.org/) or even just Windows' own unzip feature. Or, ensure you're using the latest version of NCH Express Zip (https://www.nchsoftware.com/zip/index.html) if that's your preferred file compression tool.

Incidentally, SuperLemmix is larger because there are more levels (including all the originals) and music included with the download. NeoLemmix ships with only the most necessary files for the program to run, and users then add levels, music, etc. from there.

(Also, SuperLemmix 2.8.3 will hopefully be released in a few days, with quite a few bugfixes and improvements!)

Keep us posted.

OP, have you managed to get the problem sorted?

Mods, could this topic be moved to the SLX boards? Thanks.

I'll move it in 3 days, to first give The Dragon time to see these answers in Help.

Edit 4 days later: Moved to SuperLemmix Main.
