I downloaded "lemlevbmp_0_3_0.exe" from the Lemmings File Archive.
When I try to run it, I get this:
C:\>lemlevbmp_0_3_0.exe Isupck02.dat
! Level is incorrect size: 9655 bytes
I can't find any doc on how to use this utility.
Anyone has more info on how to use this tool to convert a level set into a set of BMP(or other popular graphic file format) files ?
Thanks!
You must do it using a single level file (.lvl) and not using a level pack file.
Thanks DragonsLover!
I use the DAT decompressor and got the individual levels.
I then ran the level files thru the lemlevbmp. It complaint about missing group8o.dat.
I then took the group*.dat files from the LEMEDIT dir, it ran and didn't give me any error.
However, no files were created either.
I figured it must need other graphics files as well, so I copied all the files from LEMEDIT and it generates the BMP ok.
I vaguely remembers that the author of lemlevbmp (mindless?) mentioned something about the usage of this tool back on the old lemmings forum, but I no longer have those info.
It would be nice if there's a readme file or usage file for lemlevbmp_0_3_0.exe
detailing what's needed to run and what options/parameters (if any) it takes.
And maybe some examples would be nice.
Preferably, these info should be package in a zip file with the exe on the Lemmings Files Archive. Or even better, when you run the EXE without parms, it will show you the usage.
Thanks!
Here's an archive of the thread from the old forum that talks about LEV2BMP:
