When selecting the option "Disable Background Images" only background images are removed, but no-effect objects and moving background objects are still displayed. Displaying non-moving no-effect objects is fine, because such objects include exit tops, which help to recognize exits.
But (apart from coding-related issues) I see no difference between background images and moving background objects. Both types seems to exist solely for the purpose to add decoration. So I expect that most players who want no background image, share my preference in not wanting to see moving background objects, too.
Is my expectation correct? Are there any cases where players would want to see moving background object, but not background images?
Makes sense to me.
Implemented for next update.
