I know it's probably a long shot, but I am wondering if the Lemmings arcade game's prototype is available for download anywhere. I'd like to see how Lemmings was translated to a coin-op format.
Assuming you have a basic command of French, you can download it from PlanetEmu (http://www.planetemu.net/) for play with MAME.
If French isn't your forte, just go to MAME > MAME (CHD & Samples excluded) > L > Lemmings (US Prototype) > Telecharger.
After that, you'll need to get the MAME emulator, which is available here. (http://www.mame.net/)
I've played it myself, it seems to be about three-fifths complete - the game engine is there and fully functional albeit with a few graphics glitches here and there, and some menus still need niftified.
Wow, I didn't expect you could find a prototype arcade game available in MAME. Gotta try it out some time.
Thanks.
Well, except for the "Level Selection" screen, it looks done; wonder why they didn't finish it.
lemmings arcade? hah never knew it existed.
I have probably the only board left in existance now. B)
Gotta be worth something these days... wonder if its worth insuring! :D
I rescued it from DMA when they shut down and moved from Dundee to Edinburgh... that and a 3DO devkit! I should have taken Dave's monster cart... but I didnt think of it....oh well.
