Title: Multiplayer Holiday Lemmings?
Post by: DoubleU on September 25, 2014, 02:23:25 AM
Hi, sorry for reposting, but no one ever answered it.

Is it true that the Amiga version of Holiday Lemmings has 2-player mode?  None of the videos or screenshots I've seen confirm this, but they contradict it; in place of "1 Player" and "2 Player" are respectively "Play" and "Quit".

Yeah, there's no 2-player mode at all in Holiday Lemmings. That game doesn't have any levels that were designed for multiplayer (unused or otherwise), and the blue and green flags that normally mark each player's exit are nonexistent.

Well, can anyone verify what happens if you input the allegedly two-player level codes in the Amiga version as found here:

www.timsvault.com/pcgames_c/christmas_lemmings.htm

I checked with LEMMCODE.EXE and found that the codes are consistent with Lemmings and ONML as far as an analogous hypothetical two-player version - that is, the code levels start at 160 instead of 0 but are otherwise the same, suggesting they work on some system.

Those codes do indeed select two-player levels. However, because there is no way to enter two-player mode, there is no way to attempt to play those levels (and if you somehow did enter two-player mode, the game would almost certainly crash since the two-player levels do not exist). One thing they do, though, is reset your progress in the one-player levels, sending you back to Frost 1.
