Title: Software to record gameplay?
Post by: Ron_Stard on April 08, 2017, 07:19:07 AM
Which [Windows] program do you suggest me to use for recording both video & sound in my Lemmings gameplays?

I use to play mainly via NeoLemmix, but also on DOSBox and on the two existing Java players -[Super]Lemmini-.

My laptop is an Acer Aspire with AMD 8 Quad Core 64 bits @ 2.4 GHz & 12 GB RAM DDR3

I would recommend OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). It's open source, relatively easy to use and with a bit of finetuning I managed to get everything I wanted to record until now. :)

There are tons of Youtube tutorials and online manuals as well.

OBS is good and worked when I used it for streaming but hasn't worked for me when I did youtube related vids because I like to record audio/video separately, and OBS has a hard time doing that apparently. for that I used Hyper cam and audacity. Hypercam is good but not as good quality as OBS or Debut software for example. (FPS is kind of bad as you can see on my Marble Drop vids)

Debut is pretty good but getting it is a hassle. It's free but you get hassled to buy the pay version and I can't remember exactly how to get the free version (it isn't easy).

I use OBS to record video and in-game audio and Audacity to record my commentary. Audacity is powerful, free, and can be used to make your audio clean without altering the game audio.

I use OBS Studio. You could almost think of it as if OBS was a demo and OBS Studio was the full-featured version, except OBS Studio is still free.
