Title: Andi,Some suggestions
Post by: tumble_weed on July 06, 2004, 04:08:01 PM
hmm Ok well since this isn't LU and I have some suggestions you could use for this forum

1. Use your cool lemming emoticons that you made before...they were nice *done*

2. Have a forum for introductions *aborted, because it's kinda senseless. will only make spam*

3. Have forum specifically for peoples levels they have made *done*

4. fix the mkae poll button, it doesn't appear

Ok that's all I have so far...XD

I'll do my very best.  ;) In the future I'll add much more features.

But currently I have things to do for school. So it might take some time.

And what do you mean with: A forum for introductions?

Ok then. When I tried to get it working again. I almost screwed it totally up. :P I'll see if I can make it possible to post polls again.

the introductions idea, it was so people can say who they are etc...for new members.... but maybe ignore that that since we're probably not going to get all the many non lemmings universe members yet...

A lot of forums have an area where people just go and make posts like "Hi, I'm new here!" and then everyone welcomes them. It's always struck me as somewhat unecessary, though :P

And I agree about the Lemming emoticons XD

yeah...you better put them up....those were awesome

A very picky moot point, but "discussion" is misspelled in the description for the Technical Help section of the board...

I copied it from LUDB. So tell this the LUDB Admin.  :D

heh the emoticons are great. but for some reason, putting " P without a space turns into " then an emoticon

Andi, about what you copied from LUDB (the four forums), say them in your own words, like for Game Help:

For those who need help in Lemmings Games, post here

Try for General Discussion, Technical Help and Off-Topic Discussion. Good Luck!

Hm. And why? :-/
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions

I don't see anything wrong with the forum.

Maybe one thing could be better: When there's a new answer in one topic, to be able to go directly to the new answer instead of clicking on the last number of the topic's last page and slide down. No?

Because you said in the forums that you were hoping that the admin won't kill you.

Now, write the forum infos (General Discussion, Game Help, Technical Help and Off-Topic) in your own words.

@Ice_Eagle91: I made a new one for Off-Topic, but for General, Help and Tech I have no better ideas. Maybe you?

@DL: I don't like it, too, but they are working hard on YABB2. Maybe it'll then be like that.

General Discussion: You can talk about Lemmings stuff in this forum.

Game Help: For those who need help in Lemmings Games, post here.

Technical Help: If any lemmings games have a problem, post here for help.

Personally I didn't see anything wrong in copying the descriptions that LU had.

Where's the make poll button?
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions
Post by: G3K on August 14, 2004, 12:41:27 AM
There is no spoon poll.
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions
Post by: Andi on August 14, 2004, 11:36:22 AM
The normal board has no polls. I have to add them by Modifications made by other users. But last time, when I did that, everything crashed the board was unusable and I had to load the backup. If you want me to try it again, I might get the polls to work, but the forum won't be available for two days at maximum. (Why two days? For some reason, if you leave scripts for some hours on the server, sometimes they work then.)

I would just like to see the auto-resizing of avatars turned off. Makes it a pain for people who make their own avatars. I would think this should just be a one-line change in a config file somewhere, but I'm not familiar with YaBB...
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions

If that's okay with everyone, Andi.
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions
Post by: Ice_Eagle91 on August 20, 2004, 04:21:06 AM
How about more smileys? I've thought of a Joker Lemming, a screaming lemming, and a lemming with a "You're cool!" sign.
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions
Post by: Conway on August 20, 2004, 10:58:58 AM
I don't like the idea of completely disabling the auto-sizing of avatars. How about the option to set the dimensions you want the avatar resized to?
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions
Post by: Andi on August 20, 2004, 03:25:59 PM
I can only set, what the forum supports. And why do you dislike the idea? If the avatar is too big I'll delete it. Anyway. If you ask yourself why I haven't changed the board, I was too busy today. So I'll do it tomorrow or later when I have time. :sorry:

It's okay, Andi. Don't feel sad about it. &#A0;:)

I think you should add the warning boxes feature too, but they're different color, with a number on each box, and the total is 5, so:

1st warning box: Blue
2nd warning box: Green
3rd warning box: Yellow
4th warning box: Orange
5th warning box: Red

And when that member has all five warning boxes, at the bottom, you should type, in glowed letters:

BANNED!

Like the idea?

I can't do it like in LUDB with Boxes, but I think text does the same.

I don't really have any complaints with the forum. Of course, more smilies are always good! BTW, did you make them yourself, or get them somewhere else?

Umm...Andi...it's "made," not "mad".

Fortunately, your English is getting better! Keep it up! &#A0; ;)

Shouldn't there be rules in each forum, including this one?

I've been thinking of more smileys.

1. Lemming bursting in flames (to express anger)
2. Joker Lemming
3. Screaming Lemming
4. Lemming with a "You're cool!" sign
5. Lemming with a "STOP IT!" sign

You should add a link to the german version of lemmings universe. I'm trying to learn german and
(i tried doing this in your german forum once) it's fun to try and navigate a website that's in a language you don't know. Keep up on the smilies, these things are funny! :D :lem4ever: :agree: :disagree:    :spam: :sorry:  :bday: :) :D ;) ;P >:( B) :'( :???: :-( :???: O_o X_X O_O :P :x :-/ :-[ =8O they look even better next to eachother.

Hey...What exactly do the stars next to everyone's names mean?
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions

It's based on your number of posts. Moderators get 5 green stars automatically. Admin, 5 red stars.

Normally there's a status for each member depending on the number of posts. For example 1000 posts = forum-god or something like that. But I called them all the same.

As for my website: www.lemmingswelt.de

I'll update it soon.

Stickied threads. There's a key at the bottom of the page that tells you all this...
Title: Re: Andi,Some suggestions

and, uh, what is a "stickied" thread, exactly?  What makes it different from the average not stickied thread?

Sticked means it's always on the top of the list.
