NeoLemmix Main / Re: Upgrade NeoLemmix
« on: November 10, 2023, 09:01:39 PM »
I have moved this to the main NL board as it is not a bug or suggestion. In terms of your actual question, Icho summed it up pretty well.

I do recommend installing to a clean folder if upgrading from one major version to another (eg. 12.11.X to 12.12.X). You can still copy levels and progress from your old install. When upgrading between minor versions (eg. 12.12.4 to 12.12.5), you can install over the existing copy, and I generally provide upgrade ZIPs that contain only the files that have changed.

If you are upgrading from a really old version (10.X.X or 1.X), you should set up a completely fresh install as most files are not compatible between those and 12.X.X.

Non-Lemmings Gaming / Re: Sneak (card game)

Is there any reason to go for all that rather than simply keeping the sub-round, and making the options "challenge or draw a card" rather than "challenge or pass"?

Perhaps losing a challenge should have a penalty of some kind? Or, alternatively, a cost that must be paid to even attempt to challenge.

There's a few issues that have arisen from the new mouse lock code. I'm considering whether to revert back to the old code - it wasn't perfect either but Loap hid the oddities of it quite well. I could also revert the lock for camera movement while keeping the new code for confining the cursor, as that's not having so much problem. (The issue that arose with mouse movement when confining the cursor was enabled, is due to a dumb oversight rather than a major flaw in the code.)

It should already be limited, but I'll look into it.

Loap / Re: [SUG] Mouse sensitivity
« on: October 29, 2023, 08:03:30 AM »
The mouse movement is handled by the OS. Loap sometimes suppresses it, but doesn't directly take data from the mouse. As such, changing the mouse sensitivity is not really possible.

Loap / Re: What do the black lemmings mean at the end of a level?
« on: October 29, 2023, 08:01:36 AM »
They show how many more lemmings you needed to reach the save requirement. For example, if the level requires you to save 5 lemmings, and you saved 3, you'll see 2 black lemmings. If you saved 5 or more, you won't see any.

Fixed in commit eea54a6 (will be included in the next update, or you can build from source if you like).

It's purely related to the confine cursor option; fullscreen and vsync have nothing to do with it.

I just uploaded V0.0.26.0. The main thing holding me back from going RC at this point is the rewind bug of unknown cause - since I don't know exactly how to trigger it, it's very difficult to say if my attempted fix has worked or not, though for what it's worth I haven't encountered issues since making that fix.

The one other feature that might make it in before RC, is Clear Physics Mode. Depends how complex it turns out to be to implement - all I've done so far is create some graphics for it.

Loap / Re: Loap Test Releases (current build: V0.0.26.0)
« on: October 23, 2023, 01:22:15 AM »
Uploaded V0.0.26.0.

Changes:
> Fixed a bug where turner/blockers bombing apply the destruction to the wrong blocks.
> Fixed a bug where lemmings who turn then immediately fall while on a builder bridge had forward momentum.
> Fixed a bug where the camera couldn't be rotated with the mouse (only with the keyboard) when in Virtual Lemming mode.
> Rewrote the mouse lock code (again), which fixes some issues with this feature in V0.0.25.0.
> Improvements to rendering issues.

Additionally, I have finally made replays for all the official levels.

Lemmings Plus 3D is no longer included in the download; you can obtain it (as well as Loap replays, at last) from the Lemmings Plus 3D release topic. I have made some slight adjustments to the Loap version of this pack since V0.0.25.0 was released so I recommend redownloading it.

Loap / Re: [BUG] Something going wrong when rewinding

I did identify one plausible cause of this and fixed it, but it's not definite. I haven't been able to intentionally trigger this bug by any means, so it's hard to say if it really is fixed or not.

Closed Loap Bugs / Suggestions / Re: Stereoscopic 3D?

Okay well, only one person cared enough to vote and they said not interested, so this probably won't happen.

Fixed for builders in commit 75e7ac6, meaning this bug (as far as I can tell) is fixed in all its forms now.

I re-tested all replays, given that I'd implemented a few bugfixes while making them. Out of the 186 replays, only 7 failed:

(L3D Mayhem) Five Towers - Confirmed as due to adjusting the climber-bomber physics to match DOS L3D.
(L3D Mayhem) Final Maze - Confirmed as due to fixing a turner-bomber bug.
(LP3D Tricky) The Nightman Cometh - Confirmed as due to fixing the "builder stacking" bug.
(LP3D Taxing) The Ancient Lemming Curse - Confirmed as due to fixing a turner-bomber bug (not turner-on-bridge bug as initially suspected).
(LP3D Taxing) The Claw - Confirmed as due to the turner-on-builder-brick faller momentum bug being fixed.
(LP3D Mayhem) The Grand Arch - Confirmed as due to the turner-on-builder-brick faller momentum bug being fixed.
(LP3D Mayhem) Aerial Assault - Confirmed as due to the turner-on-builder-brick faller momentum bug being fixed.

Five Towers was the only one that needed an entirely new replay; the rest all just needed some tweaks.

Have encountered this again. Haven't shed any light on the cause, but I did confirm that an extra lemming was actually missing (as opposed to merely an incorrect count being displayed).
