Different version of amiga lemmings
« on: September 15, 2006, 09:00:06 AM »
When my friend bought his amiga years ago, it came with what I think they called the 'fun pack', it was a pack of four games - lemmings, captain planet, the simpsons vs space mutants, and another I've forgot.

Lemmings however was slightly different in this pack though, the four special levels, beast I & II, menacing and awesome were replaced by different levels. (I assume this was due to a licencing reason, although if I remember correctly the titles of the levels were the same).

The only one I can remember was Menacing, where all the lems had to climb up steel, and bomb back down through dirt again in the hell/fire style. I probably only remember this because my friend and I got stuck for ages on it as we kept running out of bombers.

I can't find a copy of this for winuae, but does anyone else remember the pack?

If it's on this list, I can get it for you, but I don't think it is.

Well thanks to Mindless, I've found these special levels - at least I know I didn't imagine it

Fun 22 'Go For It' instead of Beast of a Level

Tricky 14 'Lemming Lament' instead of Menacing

Taxing 15 'Its Not Over 'Til It's Over' instead of Awesome level

Mayhem 22 'Don't Make The Wrong Choice!' instead of BeastII

I think this was because it was on a single disk, so the extended graphics levels were changed to save space. The intro animation is missing too.

Interesting... Can anyone extract these levels and post them as LVL file?

Hey, I recognize those levels.  They also replaced the special levels in the Lynx version, and possibly the GameGear and Master System versions if I recall correctly.

However, I hadn't known them to be used in any of the computer versions.
