So I've seen this coloration of the Christmas tileset...
« on: November 23, 2016, 01:05:45 AM »
So sometimes i google Holiday Lemmings just for ideas just to find some versions of the game using this palette

I was thinking, can we get a version of the christmas tileset using this palette just like how we have the MD palette tileset?

Looks like it could just be the game being run with EGA rather than VGA settings.

I don't really know how much extra value this kind of thing adds (indeed, if they didn't already exist I would not make a point of converting the Genesis sets to NL today), but certianly no one is going to stop you if you want to try and convert it. :)

It is indeed the EGA version of Lemmings.

I do remember wanting to do that, although it was a long time ago. I hadn't realised as namida pointed out how little value this actually has, apart from on the day of the release when EGA computers were still around.

The unmodified ground / VGAGR files from DOS lemmings would allow us to extract this, but honestly, is it really nessecary...?

Being fair, i thought this about the genesis tiles but I want to have more color variations at least, and this may be my only way to get them

Enjoy.

Hopefully DOSBox's emulation is okay enough for this purpose.

Note that I haven't dealt with ONML yet.

GigaLem: You can easily get them by running the game under DOSBox and choosing EGA rather than VGA at the start.

If I understand how the palette changes work properly, you may be able to identify an object containing the same color as one way arrows normally (i.e. VGA graphics, the ones we're most familiar with), and then simply make sure that whatever color changes you make to that one are also applied to the one-way arrows.
