Lemmings Main / Lemmings MODs (Amiga)
« on: September 22, 2005, 06:12:48 AM »
Since the MODs that I posted earlier were, IMHO, not satisfactory1, I've started ripping the music myself.  So far, I've ripped Awesome, and BeastI.  They sound quite good, except the pan might be a bit off... perhaps the tempo, too, though I used the tempo from the earlier rips, since this sounds correct.

I am still confused by a few things in the .sjs file format, so if anyone finds any problems in the music, let me know.

1These rips have notes added where there should be none, and some of the notes are wrong.

Lemmings Main / Lemmings DAT Anticompressor
« on: August 27, 2005, 07:23:00 AM »
download link - major bugs, expect a new version within the next week...

This program allows you to "compress" files into .DAT files, however, in reality, the compressed files will be bigger than the originals.  Anyway, ccexplore could release a program that actually does some compression, because I'm not planning to, since I wasted way too much time debugging this anticompressor.
I can add an append feature if anyone wants it, since at the moment it will only overwrite DAT files.

This program is bound to have bugs since I can't possibly compress every possible file combination... ever.

« on: July 26, 2005, 05:52:26 PM »
If anyone here has an unaltered Lemmings disk(s) (any version) please let me know...  I'd like to archive them via disk copying software before bit rot sets in.

Warning: Do NOT overwrite your disks with rawwrite, use the read tab!

Tech & Research / CustLemm under XP
« on: June 26, 2005, 04:39:01 AM »
I've never gotten Customized Lemmings to work under Windows XP... I've tried VDMSound and DOSBox, but with sad results (e.g. 1 frame per second, how am I supposed to play that slow???)

So, what I'm really wondering is can anyone tell how I can get it to work???

Lemmings Main / Lemmings for Amiga (IPF)
« on: June 15, 2005, 02:02:20 AM »
On my site I've put up Lemmings, Oh No! More Lemmings, Lemmings 2, and Lemmings 3 (ANWOL) in IPF format (meaning that they are in perfect condition, no corruptions). These files will work in WinUAE w/ the addition of a plugin. (you'll also need kickstart roms, pm me if you need them, although i'd prefer you buy them)

In short, you can play all the above Lemmings games the way they were designed to be played (who needs ports when you have the original). The only reqirement is a relativly fast computer (ANWOL eats my 2GHz cpu).

Tech & Research / Why LemEdit won't work under XP
« on: April 21, 2005, 11:51:56 PM »

Notice that on the first screenshot (Win98), there is a line that states " -MS Windows 04.0A detected. Drivers run in compatibility mode ...   Done." Also notice that this line is missing when LemEdit is run under XP (second screenshot).

Also, this program demonstrates that DOS applications can only detect Windows versions below XP. If it is run under Windows 98 it will tell you that "Windows is running." If it is run under XP it will tell you that "Windows is not running." This program genuinely tries to detect all versions of Windows.

Therefore if LemEdit could detect XP, it would probably run in compatablity mode. (The mouse would work.)

Lemmings Main / Req: Jeff Pack 6
« on: April 07, 2005, 07:36:00 AM »
Nowhere can I find Jeffrey Lancaster's 6th level pack (the one that was listed on VTM's site, JLPack06.zip), so I was wondering if anyone here has it. :???:
Thanks
