Title: Sonic's 25th Anniversary - Sonic Mania!

I know technically his 25th birthday was in June but to celebrate, I've shifted my channel's focus to playing games from his franchise for the time being.
I haven't had any Lemmings videos to upload for a while anyway.

I've had a playthrough up of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 (genesis) on my channel for a while now.

I've started uploading videos for Sonic 2 just recently.

But the reason I'm posting this topic is mainly because of Sonic Mania which comes out at last later today and I intend on recording a full playthrough where I haven't seen any spoilers beforehand (as hard as it is because the internet has been rife with spoilers for the past 24 hours at time of posting).
This playthrough will be uploaded to my channel as soon as possible.

I'm also curious if anyone else on here is intending on picking up the game at some point.

Other games I plan on playing and recording playthroughs after Sonic Mania.

Sonic Heroes (PS2 version)
Sonic Unleashed (Xbox 360)
Sonic 3 and Knuckles (Xbox 360)
Sonic Generations (Xbox 360)
Sonic CD (Xbox 360)
Sonic Forces (on release)

If there are any other suggestions I'm open to hear them, although I'm leaving Sonic Adventure DX and 2 Battle because Colorful Arty has started a playthrough on 2 Battle already. I'm also not great at Sonic Adventure overall.

Other games I have available for definite but not sure if people want to see playthroughs

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 (both episodes) - excluding because if has bad physics
Sonic All Stars Racing (both games) - it's Mario Kart style racing and based on luck so not sure if it makes good viewing.
Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) - excluding because it is widely regarded as the worst Sonic game of all time

A family friend gave me sonic heroes a month ago which looks like a good game, need to give that one a try soon. Never played that one before.

I might have a suggestion which was something I found quite fun which was the sonic and knuckles special stage the sphere collecting game where you have to collect the blue spheres and avoid the red ones.  It was a game just based on the sphere aspect of the game. The levels tend to go on for sometime, it probably gets to the stage where it loops back again.

1.I'll warn you about Heroes, your millage may vary, the biggest issue are the speed type characters. they're too slippery

2.I will spoil something about Mania, you do get the blue sphere game after clearing all 32 bonus stages, some of which are badly designed IMO >:( but when you get the blue spheres game, on mania mode you have two nuances introduced here, Pink Spheres that teleport you and Green spheres that you have to go around twice to make em red. I believe that they were salvaged from the canned mobile Sonic 3 port

There are approximately 134 million Blue Sphere stages in the No Way! Blue Spheres game you're on about (accomplished by putting Sonic 1 in Sonic and Knuckles).
You're right though, it does loop around eventually after 134 million.
If someone played Blue Spheres indefinitely, it can't be achieved in a lifetime!

I don't think anyone would want to watch that, I play quite a lot of Blue Spheres in my Sonic Mania playthrough anyway.

Werster did a 24 hour stream where he gets to Level 2222 in Blue Spheres (I'm actually sad enough to have watched the whole thing!)

Keep in mind that he's going for perfects and that means you skip 10 levels so the amount of levels he actually plays is just over 200.


GigaLem, I haven't played Mania mode of Blue Spheres yet. I think the Green spheres really overcomplicates it by the sound of it anyway.

Flopsy what about playing up to level 110, well maybe level 100, if you collect all the rings you can warp 10 levels or something like that.

Is sonic heroes considered a good one to try Gigalem?

I say approach with caution, It depends on what you're willing to put up with

It can be a fun time, but you're gonna need to be careful about the speed characters because They're TOO FAST

I was considering streaming a Sonic game at some point (not sure if I will this weekend). What do you guys recommend?

It has to be a free or emulatable game. I'm curious about fan made games.
